Gotye Trashes Glee Cover as "Dinky, Wrong, Dry"

by at .

Gotye has been everywhere over the last few weeks.

He performed on Saturday Night Live. His breakout single, "Somebody That I Used to Know" was covered on American Idol and Glee.

And while the artist is clearly thrilled with his success - "I wrote the song and everything else has been a series of surprises," Gotye tells Great Britain's The Sunday Mail - he isn't enthralled with how the Fox comedy tackled his track.

"They did such a faithful arrangement of the instrumentals but the vocals were that pop Glee style, ultra dry, sounded pretty tuned and the rock has no real sense, like it's playing to you from a cardboard box," the artist said of the above cover by Darren Criss and Matt Bomer.

Talking to The Sunday Herald Sun, Gotye added the Glee version made his song "sound dinky and wrong."

Ouch! You tell us: is Gotye's assessment accurate? Or should be be grateful to Glee for giving the single such exposure?

Glee is such a lame show. Why is it even popular?

No frustration. Women have their uses. But music appreciation isn't one of them.
