American Idol Results: Who Got the Boot?

by at . Comments

American Idol traveled back to the 1980s last night.

But the remaining eight finalists were forced to look ahead on Thursdays results show, as America voted and revealed an unfortunate future for one contestant:

He or she is going home. Who received the bad news?

The Final 8

It appeared briefly that fan favorite Phillip Phillips might be in danger, but it came down to Elise Testone and DeAndre Brackensick in the bottom two.

The contestant getting the boot this week was ...

The audience, predictably, began chanting "Save! Save! Save! Save!" Unfortunately for the falsetto-singing teen, only one of the judges would've done so.

Jennifer broke the bad news: "This boy right here, we've been watching him for two years. You're an amazing performer. I stand by that," she told him.

However, "I only get one vote. I'm sorry ... we're not saving you tonight."

Ryan puts her on the spot, asking if J. Lo voted to save him while Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson didn't. "Yes," she replies, "that's what I'm saying."

Think she was serious? It's a good cover story if not. Every week could be a 2-1 decision against the eliminated singer. Anyway, best of luck, DeAndre.

What do you think? Did America (and the judges) get it right?

Yeah, I'm ready to see Phillip go as well....he does exactly the same thing w/ever song....u've seen one u've seen them all...but what is worse, was his blatant dismissal of Jimmy's advice. I get and support the stay true to urself deal, but he is becoming more adamantly defiant to directions to make some needed changes. Seems like he shd be willing to grow a little, think if he were not so stubborn, he cld find way to incorporate Jimmy's suggestions while remai

With some work and proper training, there should be a career for DeAndre. He has talent and is certainly a cutee. But he definitely is the one that shoud have been voted off at this time.

I am so sorry to see DeAndre go. I loved him as a singer and performer.
The problem apparently was that he's "old school." And that's just not a genre appreciated by today's audiences. In another time and place DeAndre would have been HUGE! And he would have gotten the respect he deserves as an artist. I will definitely miss him, and I looked forward to his performances every week. Here's hoping that he can remain true to his real talent and not have to "sell out" just to sound like everyone else.

I think Philip should have been voted off.

Ahhhh so glad to see him off the show, AI Season 11 will be so much more enjoyable without his annoying falsetto screeching.
