Just watched his video....amazingly ignorant man. Just the way he said "she wants us to pay for her sex"...and talking about having sex...etc....wow...what an attitude towards women I detect. He doesn't even know how insurance works either...the women probably pay a fee in their tuition toward the medical care, thus they should have a say in what is covered. Lastly, its too bad that the students don't seem to know there are lots of options usually available for medical care through state health dept clinics, etc. that will provide and that money is already allocated. I do, however, believe that insurance companies should cover oral contraceptives at all times. Like others have said, they are used for medical situations as well as pregnancy avoidance. I am just shocked and saddened by the hateful, spiteful things said that indicate misogyny at its "finest". Keeping women in their place, etc. Its sad.
@Cousin Inbred: You obviously don't understand birth control either. The woman did not say she had hundreds of sex partners. The amount of money a woman on birth control in a year does not indicate how many sex partners she has.
Companies should know what they're putting their name behind when they sponsor Rush Limbaugh's radio show. They should know his happily-voiced views on the issues, and that many of these views are extremely controversial. They should know what the business deal would entail: he plugs them on his show, and they support him financially. But you shouldn't have sponsored him IN THE FIRST PLACE if you don't want your name behind his comments. Duh..
By the reading of most of these comments--it seems hate rules the day. We have freedom of speech-and the freedom to dislike speech. We all say things we wish we had not. I find most of these posts just as hateful and hurtful as what Rush said. Saying he should never have been born??? I MUST take birth control as having a child could result in my death--but no one but me is responsible for paying for it. The companies themselves have ways to help--and I have used those. It is NO ONE'S responsibility to pay for the drugs I need--than mine. But everyone also has to take responsibility for the things they say as well. Too much hate speech on here.
*I have the usual emotion of wishing people Well, but in the case of Rush Limbaugh,I am looking forward to more sponsors leaving his lair. Newt Gingrich was on "This Week with George Stephanopulos" and when he was asked about Limbaugh's language, Gingrich talked all around the subject without answering the question, and then changing the subject. I can easily appreciate the encouragement that is being willed into the direction of Ms. Fluke at this time. No one deserves to be singled out and degraded on the airwaves the way that she was introduced to those who had Not witness her messages before. Limbaugh threw her Name out into the masses with a complete disregard of dignity. Hopefully, by the time that his Name is dragged around he will begin to feel like the manure that he has been for years, and it taken the quiet reserve of Sandra Fluke to present it to the world. Limbaugh is rotten to the core!!
