Michelle Duggar Denies Adverse Impact on Earth, Says Entire Population Could Live in Jacksonville

To anyone accusing her of being wasteful or irresponsible on a planet already short on resources, Michelle Duggar of 19 Kids and Counting offers a strong rebuke.

In an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network, Michelle was asked how one can justify having such a large family in an already overpopulated world.

Duggar said overpopulation is basically a myth. Why? Get ready for this ...

Jim Bob, Michelle Duggar, Family

"The idea of overpopulation is not accurate because, really, the whole world population, standing shoulder to shoulder, could fit in the city limits of Jacksonville."

"So if you realize that aspect, we're not anywhere near being overpopulated."

Who knew Jacksonville was that big? Take that, science. Step off.

Michelle Duggar did, with all due respect, go on to discuss how buying used cars, old clothing and living resourcefully can reduce a family's environmental impact.

They also have no debts, reducing their financial burden on others.

Nevertheless, a family of 21? Probably more of strain on the environment than one half its size. Or a quarter of its size. Carbon footprints do exist, like it or not.

According to Duggar - who does specialize in a terrific Duggars Tater Tot Casserole recipe -  other countries have death rates that eclipse birth rates (it's actually quite rare), so there can never be too many babies. Huh?

Anyway, we're done. Your turn. Is it okay to have 19 kids?

Well...at least they don't live in UTAH!!!!! LOL!!!!!

I can't even imagine what Michelle's insides are like. I think the Lord was trying to tell them something when she miscarried the last time and had such a hard time with the last baby. If Michelle or JimBob, or both, should die, who is gonna take care of all these little children? The older kids? That's really the unfair thing.
I stopped watching that show several years ago because I don't think they are doing right by their children. Just my opinion.

Without a TV show................????

Stood shoulder to shoulder? That is backwards and ridiculous. Of course, if we stacked people like cords of wood, the whole entire world's population could be made to fit into any city limits that you wanted to fantasize about! This family, although nice, justifies every single thing they do to fit their beliefs, their morals, their own personal fantasies. Sometimes the things they let slip through their mouths is just hokey and embarrassing to other very nice & kind Christians of this country and abroad.

First of all it's none of anybody's business!!! At least they don't & never have lived off the state. I think over populating is BS. I would rather them have 50 more children, then other people having bad seeds. They raise their children with respect & caring for others. If only everyone had parents like them, this world would be so much better. I'm not a fan of their reality show, mainly because I really don't watch reality shows, but I side with them.

She didn't say they could all LIVE in Jacksonville! She said they could FIT. Have you measured the square footage and divided it into the number of people on the earth? It is a distribution of resources that creates destitution, not number of bodies.

I do not have a problem with them wanting a huge family - but as there are so many children without families, why not just adopt those already here.

This is America (THE LAND OF THE FREE)
so they can literally do whatever they want,
and if they want to have 19 kids,so be it.
That's their choice to do that.
The children are obviously well taken care of,raised right, and are good kids.
So I saw as long as they keep that up,
then nothing wrong with it.

The way I see it is, each and every one of those children have a purpose on this earth. God gave them those kids and everyone needs to leave them alone. I personally couldn't have that many kids. But more power to them.

She is correct about the world at least the U.S. not being over populated have you ever driven from Reno to Boise? It's fine, they are doing a great job as parents and as people. Why judge them your not paying the bills of the family. They are self supporting.

And so be available, and not just available, but be joyfully available for him. Smile and be willing to say, 'Yes, sweetie I am here for you,' NO MATTER WHAT, even though you may be exhausted and big and pregnant and you may not feel like he feels. 'I'm still here for you and I'm going to meet that need because I know it's a need for you.' - Michelle

Anyone can fix him lunch, but only one person can meet that physical need of love that he has, and you always need to be available when he calls. - Michelle Duggar on saying yes (yes, and more yes) to sex
