Kirk Cameron on Homosexuality: Unnatural, Detrimental and Destructive to Society!

by at . Comments

Kirk Cameron's recent comments to Piers Morgan on gay marriage and homosexuality in general - he's not a fan, to put it mildly - are causing quite a stir.

Cameron, a born-again Christian, said on Friday's show that he does not support gay marriage, and when it comes to homosexuality in general, he said:

"I think that it's ... unnatural. I think that it's detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization."

Piers then noted that if one of his sons told him he was gay, he'd say it's great as long as he was happy, and asked Kirk how he would treat such a situation.

Cameron responded that he'd talk to them about the "issues" we "wrestle through" in our lives and encourage them not to act on everything they feel.

He also criticized Piers for trying to "define" morality. Pot, meet kettle?

Herndon Graddick, Sr. Director of Programs at GLAAD, says Cameron, a Born-Again Christian, has views more dated than his Growing Pains character.

He calls Kirk "out of step with a vast majority of American, particularly people of faith who believe their gay and lesbian brothers and sisters should be loved and accepted based on their character, not condemned because of their sexual orientation."

GLAAD plans on monitoring Cameron's media bookings to ensure "the news and entertainment industry is aware of his outrageous anti-gay views."

Cameron has also taken on Stephen Hawking and Darwin in recent years. Spoiler alert: He doesn't subscribe to those guys' views either.

What the mess in ur head kirk. U said unnatural. Of course but natural for Homosexual. I know it's wrong in some religious, but i thought religious never stand apart for consider anything about their natural. If u had gay childrent what should u do? I know u r not gay that's y u said like that. Stronger homo

How sad that no one cares Pen Teller was on earlier in the show declaring himself an Athiest, yet everyone is getting fired up about a man declaring his belief in Christ and standing up for his own person views and morals? Why is a man who is standing up for marriage as God defines it "unchristian"? Kirk didn't go on this show to talk about gay marriage and abortion, but to promote his documentary. Mr. Morgan promoted his segment with Kirk as "edgy" on twitter, then tried to engage him in a debate about hot button issues. I'm GLAD someone is standing up in such a public way for our rights too...

While I don't agree with his views I do believe everyone has the right to their own opinions & beliefs. At least he said what he felt & isn't giving an answer just to please when he really doesn't feel that way.

Child" im gay dad " Kirk " its unnatural and destructive" POLICE : " we are sorry Mr and Mrs Smith, your son is dead , he committed suicide last night" : "would you know why?" TOO MANY KIDS KILLING THEMSELVES BECAUSE OF HATE TOWARDS THEM FROM COMPLETE STRANGERS AND FAMILY>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I'm disappointed that someone I like is so closeminded, but respect his strength for sticking to his beliefs no matter how unchristian. You have to admit, for an actor so off the grid in his career to take such a risky position took courage, even if it also pointed out how small he is.

Kirk Cameron stumbled when he answered the question as to same-sex marriage. God declared long, long ago same-sex relationships are an abomination and it is history cities were destroyed for this abominable sin.
He had an opportunity on a national stage to tell people the Good News of Jesus Christ and forgiveness for sin and hesitated and that is what bothers me the most.
