Jon Hamm Slams Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, General Celebration of Idiocy

by at .

He's one of the most talented actors alive, as well as a member of the Saturday Night Live hosting pantheon. In short: Jon Hamm ruled long before he spoke to Great Britain's Elle magazine.

In the latest issue, though, the Mad Men star says exactly what anyone with an IQ over 12 is thinking: why do so many people care about Kim Kardashian and other reality stars?!?

"We're at a place where the idea of being 'elite' is somehow considered a negative," Hamm says. "Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a f-cking idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you're rewarded significantly... It doesn't make sense to me."

Mad Men premieres season five on March 25. Let's hope Hamm's rant just earned the tremendous show an even bigger following.

Entertainment for the pure sake of entertainment doesn't alyaws have to constitute material of educational value. However, it can also be said that running a business doesn't take a lot of brains either. It constitutes the ability to multi-task, micro-manage and maintain a balance in money and numbers. Simply put, an uneducated mind can run a business. All of that aside, make-up, breasts, pretty clothing and money do not make a person intelligent. But, congrats to Kim for being successful in her pursuits. I still refrain from wasting what I consider my valuable time watching her form of entertainment.

It's funny how these spoiled little rich kids get some face time on TV and suddenly they think they are stars deserving Oscars for being whiney idiots or extroverted morons. In any other setting this behavior would be called "hamming it up" or just "cheesy".The adoration of a bunch of other wannabes reinforces their delusions of stardom. It makes me physically ill that any dipsh#t with a camera can roll film and call it a show.
