Jessica Simpson to Name Baby Daughter ...

by at . Comments

Choosing a baby name can be tricky. Especially if you're a celebrity.

The very pregnant Jessica Simpson and her fiancé Eric Johnson were, until recently, at an impasse about what to call their soon-to-be born daughter.

“They tossed around a lot of names, including some wacky ones like Zinfandel, but just couldn’t agree on anything,” a family friend confides.

What did they come up with?

“They’re going to call her Maxwell, Maxi for short,” the friend says. Maxwell is Eric’s middle name, and also his beloved grandma’s maiden name.

“Jessica wanted a name with meaning.”

Aww. Unusual as that is, it's quite sweet. If this is even true. Jess has been wearing a necklace with a diamond “M” pendant, so that could explain it.

The often nude, pregnant Jessica is now set to give birth on April 20, three weeks earlier than her original due date. “She’s gained so much weight and the baby is so huge that doctors had to push up the date,” reveals her friend to In Touch.

She doesn't let that thing get in the way of non-stop boning at least.

Why not just save the name in case you have boy with a following pregnancy.

For heavens sake Jessica please give the baby a girls name... Maxwell is definitely for a boy.

Shes absolutely stunning and glowing while pregant, but i dont like that name.

How about Maxine? Ot maybe Maxelle? When I hear Maxi - I think of Maxi pads. When i hear maxwell i think of coffee or some rich british aristocrat. But it's thier choice. The celebrity baby names I truly had trouble with were Apple (Gwyneth Paltrow) and Chastity (Cher).

What is wrong with our society. An unborn baby is being bullied because of a name choice of the parents.. Seriously people get a grip.. Its a very nice name.. remember BOBBIE. Jamie as a few & they are quite cute. Eric is an only child so the fact they want to use a name from his family is awesome.

I understand wanting a meaning for a name, but why not use it as the middle name and give her a feminine first name should she enter a profession in her adult life that names do matter, she could still call her Maxi, which I do really like. Maxwell just sounds so manly, boyish, unlike other names that can be used for either a girl or boy. She can also be made fun of as Maxwell Smart in Get Smart, which isn't bad but he was a bumbling character, and if she turns out not to be very coordinated it could be a bad name for her, likewise what if she wants to be a ballerina, Maxwell in a tutu, ooh the picture that paints. Why can't people use these "different" names as middle names and use them if they like them, but then the child has a choice when he or she grows up without legally having to change their name and hurt feelings?

everyone is saying about Jessica naming her baby maxwell and it being a boys name this day and age who cares anymore. times have changed. what about jay-z and beyonce naming their little girl blue?

I like the name they chose. Why does everything have to be gender specific? I have a unique name and was teased for it but when someone said my name in a room I knew they were talking to me. It's nice to be able to stand out in a crowd. Furthermore I named my son Cameron so who's to say that name wasn't gender specific at one point?

My son name is Cameron n that's a boy girl name maxi cute for a short name

Maxi would be ok for a girl but not maxwell she should leave it as just Maxi
