Bobbi Kristina Brown to Change Last Name?

Goodbye, Bobbi Kristina Brown. Hello, Kristina Houston?

According to TMZ sources, the 19-year old daughter of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston wants to take a step closer to her mother... by taking a step away from her father.

The troubled teen - whose family has been concerned about her since the passing of her parent, and who will be interviewed by Oprah Winfrey tonight on OWN, as previewed above - has reportedly been angling for a first and last name change for years. Her mother always denied the request, however.

But now insiders say that Bobbi is thinking clearly, is in a "better place" these days and is anxious to distance herself from her controversial father.

Based on Brown's behavior at Whitney's funeral, it's hard to blame his daughter for feeling this way.

    Bobbi, I really think you should stop and think that no matter what u change Bobby Brown is still your father.Would Whitney be happy with you no "I don't think so"? Bobby is no criminal a man can only do what a woman allows him to do so. Apparently, your mother loved your father at some point and time she spent the majority of her life with him and he loved him. You can change your DNA you're still going to look just like him, you look more like him than your mother. Stop and think your father has suffered enough he has barred from seeing you and is no criminal, he is human you have to realize some people do not have a father and would love to have one.

    I think that she should change her name in order to somewhat have her own identity away from her loser/drug addicted father as other stars have done and all of those negative idiots out there need to do there homework before making such ignorant statements.

    What many fail to realize is that she was born as Bobbi Kristina Houston-Brown. She not adding it, her mom made sure her name had HOUSTON in it. Whitney may have had some problems but when it came to her daughter and business, she had it straight. From the jump everything was left to her, that child is her legacy. While Whitney wanted that baby to be the legacy for both her and Bobby, the weight is much to much for her fragile self. I can understand wanting to dis-associate her name from her dad. That child needs her OWN IDENTITY aside from her fathers. Its one thing to have a last name but first and last is a bit much. This gives her a fresh start to find who she is outside of being the daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. RESPECT IT & LEAVE HER ALONE!

    Bobby Brown never put a gun to whitneys head to make her do drugs. it was her choice. she didnt have to do it she could of got him some help. y is bobbi kristian so mad at bobby. thats what i would like to know. he will always be her father. remember bobbi kristian u will need your father one day. i pray for the both of u. this is the time she should forgive him and have a relationiship with him. she has alot of people who have put wrong things in her head.i'm with everyone else name change isnt going to change the DNA in her.
