Whitney Houston Funeral Coverage: Sold to Benefit Bobbi Kristina

by at . Comments

Based on her reaction to her mother's death - a pair of hospitalizations and rumored drug use - it's no surprise that the family of Whitney Houston is concerned over the emotional well-being of Bobbi Kristina Brown.

But a rep for the family now confirms they are worried about her financial well-being, as well.

Stevie Wonder at Whitney's Funeral

On Saturday afternoon, The Associated Press provided a live feed of the funeral in Newark, one that was posted by countless websites (including THG). However, we were required to take down the video within 24 hours and this is why:

The family has "agreed to license footage to several media outlets," an insider tells TMZ, adding that the Houstons are charging "customary fees" to ... "help maximize the estate for the benefit of Bobbi Kristina."

The ceremony lasted for a couple hours and included performances by Stevie Wonder (above), Alicia Keys, R. Kelly and a beautiful eulogy by Kevin Costner.

@Lexy,
A Special Good Evening to You!!
Thank you for sharing a chapter of Your life that still carries strong emotions. I am still laughing out loud at your daughter's idea of a double feature.
Ask your daughter if she remember the phone booth (that had a black handle that you could close behind you,or the last time she saw a mail box on a street corner. Better yet, ask her if she remembers the last time a waitress brought over a cold glass of water without you having to ask for it. And please remind her that back in the day TVs were Not in Color, but in black and white (which looked gray). Are we having fun yet?? Remind her that years ago, a friendly guy in a white uniform and cap would run out of the service station to put gas in your car, clean your windshield, ask to check your tires, and you didn't have to get out of your car. You just paid through your window. Until Next time.. Take Care!!

Hey Hilton Hater-you don't see anything wrong with them making money off of her death & funeral but you see something wrong with what Bobby B may or may not do about a book? Dam you got your loyalties all messed up. Supposedly Whitney's estate is worth millions & she also has her father who's still worth millions and they are worried about Bobbi Kristina's financially. They are worried about themselves. That's what they are worried about. I'm sure they are worried about her in the sense of her drug abuse etc. she should go to rehab & get help to deal with this tragedy. But as far as them being worried about her financially is B.S. I think them making money off of Whitney's funeral is the lowest you can get.

@Leo, I have two comment to your comments. Your first comment really hit home with me. Ms. Houston-78 year old mom- will get her peace. I lost a child. I've always tried to have that strong face to help everyone else. When the dust settles your left with idle time to think. Your mind can be a dangerous thing...... On a happier note, your second comment is a great idea. However, when I asked my 18 year old what a double feature was the reply was something with movies???? I want the old drive-in movies to come back into style.

They don't need to do this. Much of the Whitney Houston back catalogue is already entering the charts and the proceeds will go into her estate. No doubt her daughter was the sole beneficiary in her will. She also has a living father whom she is obviously close to and who appears to be mindful of her welfare. The most important thing for this child right now is to heal her - not riches.

Just thinking out loud!!
Considering the fact that 2012 is going to be the 20th Anniversary of
The Bodyguard, I would Not be surprised if the studios offered Whitney's last movie Sparkle and The Bodyguard (in limited release) as a double feature. Just saying!!

let the family do their thing we all do mistakes she deserves our support

Ms billie

I agree with Dee they said she inherited millions, so why does she need more money? Although I just read in the tabloids she was worth over $100 million at one time and was now broke and owed drug dealers $1.5 million. Such a beautiful successful lady it's soooo sad. One can only hope her family can save her daughter Bobby Kristina before her addiction gets totally out of control. Doesn't appear her stay in rehab last May help much.
