Tony Bennett Pushes for Legalization of Drugs

by at . Comments

In the wake of Whitney Houston's death, most celebrities are reacting with nothing but condolences and kind words about the iconic singer.

Some, however, are speaking out in more detail, with Celine Dion telling Good Morning America today that the celebrity culture itself bears some responsibility for Whitney's demise.

Tony Bennett, meanwhile, has taken a different, surprising tact. At Clive Davis' annual Grammy Awards party, held just hours after Houston passed away, the legendary artist went off on a different topic.

Tony Bennett at the Grammys

"First it was Michael Jackson, then Amy Winehouse, now, the magnificent Whitney Houston," he said. "I'd like every person in this room to campaign to legalize drugs. Let's legalize drugs like they did in Amsterdam. No one's hiding or sneaking around corners to get it. They go to a doctor to get it."

Not sure if that would have saved any of the aforementioned lives, but it's always an interesting debate. Where do you stand?

Should America legalize drugs?

Why should a person have to hide to buy illegal drugs when Doctors give you a Rx for "dope" to cope anyway?? "The Drug Store" disguised as a pharmacy charge a King's Ransom (for legalized FDA approved pills, capsules and tablets and let's Not forget the over the counter alcohol effect of some of the leading cough medications that leave you so drugged out that when you do come back to your senses,it's like coming out of a coma). Tony may be a well respected crooner, but he is just as street smart as he is song savvy. PEACE!!

The pursuit of a false black unity is destroying American blacks. What do all these ill fated stars have in common - foreign travels and relationships with voudon practitioners. Just look at Oprah before she got involved with South Africa and look at her now, and you can figure out who will be next easily. Africa is divided by tribal feuds, and yet the blk american foolishly thinks they can have blk unity. The foreign blk is all the while only interested in his money, and knows the ways to get it.

WASHINGTON - Ritualistic use of toxic mercury by followers of Voodoo and other religions is dangerous.
A...trick in full play these days comes from voodoo. Voodoo is in essence the control and manipulation of people by means of elemental mercury poisoning."
