The Biggest Loser Contestants: On Strike!

by at . Comments

Contestants on this season of The Biggest Loser have a weighty issue with NBC.

Those remaining on the reality competition have actually walked off the set and are threatening to collectively quit because they learned producers were planning to bring back former contestants to compete for this season's $250,000 grand prize.

This is not an atypical move in the world of reality TV, of course, but this season's hopefuls all find it unfair that past losers are now being given a chance to become winners again.

NBC has not commented on the situation, and production has been suspended for a few days, but season 12 contestant John Forger tells TMZ this season's competitors are missing the point of their participation.

"It's not about [money]. What it's really about, for most of us, is the change in our lifestyle, and being able to get rid of obesity," he says. "For most of us, it's about health. Would I walk off the show for the money? ABSOLUTELY NOT."

I think what has happened is that these guys have figured out how to win "the game" rather than better themselves. It seems to me that before, the game was secondary to weight loss. Most were concerned about being kicked off because they needed help. This has been a tension-filled, uncomfortable season. I wonder, have the producers changed? It is so much different than it was in the days when the contestants seemed to care for one another. Remember when they would cry as they voted someone off? Now, they seem to relish that there is one last competitor.

Good on those ones that walked off its their chance to change their lives and why not make some money. Past contestants had their chance now stand back let the new biggies have their glory. If NBC are doing that they should front up another prize money for past contestants.
Because if the past contestants are not in it for the money then NBC don't need to do what they doing. But we all know they want the money or else they wouldn't do that. I feel it's not fair bringing past contestants in

Can not stand Conda and after years of loving this show, it stinks with this bunch.

isn't the season we're watching already taped? isn't the trouble that's happening right now for the next season?

This group is so rude and nasty I would be glad to see them walk. Let's bring back the ones they've voted off and see if they would be more appreciative of the opportunity to change their lives than this group of whiny brats are! Their treatment of Daphne was terrible and they showed this past week that they obviously were not there to become healthier when they purposely ate to throw the weigh in! I say good riddance!

I'm done with this show especially Kim and Conda. Everyone's treatment of Daphne seemed pretty racist to me!

Seriously? Let them walk!!!!! I have been watching this show since it started and cannot stand any of the contestants except Chris. What in the world happened this season????? I'm so disgusted with this group. They are nothing but whiny brats. Conda is the worst!!!!!! If this is the way Biggest Loser is headed, I will not be watching next season. Producer's wake up!!!!!

I hope they aren't allowed back. I hope the producers realize that the fans would celebrate that move not be upset by it!

Don't let any of the striking players back. Who do they think they are??? It's about a life change and none of them understand it. They don't deserve anyone's respect, let alone prize money. A lot of people would do anything for the opportunity that they have squandered. Shame on them, taking the place of deserving potential contestants. If the producers give in, they will no longer have a product to sell.
