Ghostbusters the movie franchise WILL live on, it's an absolute certainty. Special effects technologies and the prior success of the franchise just demand that it continues. That's not my opinion, it's just a fact. Whether a movie is made in the next year or two incorporating much of the original cast, and a torch is passed to a younger generation, or whether it's made several years down the road with an entirely new cast as a complete reboot, I assure you it WILL happen. I said the same thing of Gremlins a couple years ago, and I'm just as sure about a Gremlins sequel/reboot as I am about Ghostbusters. When Hollywood has something with as much potential as it does with those two franchises, and an entirely new generation to introduce them to, nothing is going to stop them from doing it, it's only a matter of when.

I really think they need a third film and Bill Murray has to be part of it, he was the comic glue that kept the team together. It would be great to see actor Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland) play the role of a grown up Oscar, or Emma Stone play the roll of the love child between Louis Tully and Janine Melnitz, who doesnt understand why she has such an interest in the paranormal or why the paranormal has such an interest in her. It would also be interesting to see if script could somehow throw in a crack joke with Jason Hawes an Grant Wilson from SY FYs Ghost Hunters.

Bill Murray is apparently the only cast member with any brains. GB2 was a failed effort and painful to watch (for anyone with any capacity to objectively evaluate movies). GB1 was priceless and timeless classic, like Raiders of the Lost Ark. But as we all have observed in Indiana Jones Crystal Skull and Godfather 3, there is no question that GB3 will be horrible. Robert Duvall avoided GF3 and I hope Murray sticks to his senses and doesn't just do it for the money, like everyone else in Hollywood. Two sayings that peoples should remember- "Just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD"...and "You can't go home again". Leave it alone and 'create' instead of copy. This is why the last decade has sucked so bad and why the 80s and 90s were so good.

I say go for it! I am a huge fan of Bill, but to be honest, I think it could be better without him. Bring in the new talent...if Bill doesn't want a piece of it, so be it. Ghostbusters must live on. Note to Bill: My kids are huge fans, so you are blessed by yet another generation of fans. You may consider the potential missed opportunity.

Dear Bill Murray, Please get on board the Ghostbusters3 project. Fact is, they're going to do it with or without you, and it will really suck without you. thanks. A fan
