Bobby Brown Leaves Whitney Houston Funeral Early, Releases Statement

After days spent arguing with Whitney Houston's family over whether or not he'd attend his ex-wife funeral, multiple sources confirm that Bobby Brown continued arguing with his former in-laws today.

And actually left the memorial after just 20 minutes as a result.

Bobby Brown at Whitney Houston Funeral

Both E! News and TMZ report that Brown brought an entourage of nine people in to the Newark church. It's unclear exactly what happened from there, but the singer was spotted exiting the house of worship shortly after the service began.

"I am at Whitney's funeral. I spoke with Bobby Brown trying to calm him down and not distract from the services. Today is about Whitney!" Al Sharpton Tweeted, while Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson says a "seating arrangement" dispute was at play.

Brown also has a concert gig tonight in Connecticut with New Edition, but it's believed this disagreement with Whitney's family is the reason why he left the premises so quickly.

UPDATE: Brown has released the following statement:

“My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions. I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina.

"In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.”

I do hope that Whitney is at peace! I pray that BK can find the strength that is she needs to move forward in her own life. Hope she learns that Broken Hearts are mended at home. (with her father AND extended families!)

AGREE 100% WITH MRS TAYLOR!!! They each made their own choices in life! As sad as her death is, her illness did her in. Yes i said illness cause that is what addiction is. Plus, she came from a very religious family, where is the forgivness? We are taught at an early age in the church to forgive. Yes, he may have contributed to her illness, but it was her free will! If rolls were reversed, im positive Whitney would have been given the oppertunity to sit where she wanted, speak what she wanted to say, and so on. Only wish Bobby was given the same respect that his family would have shown her! Nobody is perfect. Not even Whitney! Pray that this feud between families can be squashed for BK`s sake.

I THINK BOBBI IS A CHANGED MAN, AND AGAIN, IM ONLY GOING BY WHAT THE TABLOIDS ALLOW US TO KNOW, AS A PERSON WHO BELIVES IN "A CHANGED BEING" I THINK BOBBI IS AND STILL IS TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH THAT< NONE OF OUR BUSINESS, HE DOES NOT PAY MINE, OR YOUR, BILLS. I GIVE HIM RESPECT FOR BEING THERE, NOT ONLY FOR HIS DAUGHTER, BUT FOR THE LADY HE ONCE CALLED WIFE> WHITNEY MADE HER OWN CHOICES, AND STRUGGLED, ALONG W/ BOBBY, BUT MOST IMPORTANT, THEY LOVED EACHOTHERAT ONE TIME AND TOGETHER HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER, WHO DOES AND WILL NEED HER DAD. REMEMBER WE DONT AND NEVER WILL KNOW "THAT" BOBBY BROWN, THE DAD OF BOBBI KRISTINA, AND FOR US TO MAKE JUDGEMENT OF HIM FOR WHAT WE READ AND BLAME HIM FOR WHITNEYS "OWN" MISTAKES IS NOT RIGHT. let the family move on, on their own, through this sad time, and give bobby the cedit he does deserve. a father and a human being who made some bad choices in life..we all have. leave the judgement calling to GOD!

As of yet, the entourage hasn't been named. But considering that BB and WH were married for 15 years, it stands to reason that many of HIS family still loved WH. And I personnaly think it's disrespectful to BB's family to only allow 3 of them to pay their respects. Whatever problems that BB and WH had, they should not be held against his family. I know many people that get divorced and maintain a wonderful and healthy relationship with the ex-in-laws. and the fact that he only brought an additional 6 people was pretty respectful of BB to WH's already packed full funeral. I just wish he would've stayed around till the end, along with his family. My prayers go out to the entire family, friends and all the fans that are going through this tragedy. R.I.P. Whitney, you are loved and will never be forgotten!!!

Thats why hes an 'ex' husband. Everyone should know their place it was about Whitney today not Cisssy, not the winans, not the church but Whitney going home. Just as Tiana states. He was given 3 tickets...why would you being 6 additional folks the church and only hold 300 and there were already 1500 folks there already! Thats just that poor judgement thinking that he seems to be well known for. He should have been thoughtful and graceful that was his time to SHINE a bit but again he gave us only more reasons to say "what did she see in him" and more reasons to say "they shouldn't have invited him to begin with". Bobby will hopefully learn from this experience and take this towards becoming a better man and a better example for his daughter Bobbi Kristina. Whitneys home now..... so he needs to do his own postiive PR.

No matter what the family has to remember she really Loved that man for whatever reasons.Probley still did and he is the Daddy of the young lady whitney adores their daughter.Even know he is considered an evil bad influence on Whitney! She was a very powerful and bright woman very capable of making her own choices. She was not a poor battered woman stuck in a abusive relationship with no support system!

There is a Not much difference between an (ex) in law and a known outlaw!! The media has been waiting for this to happen, why else would there be so much interest in whether he was going to be at the funeral or Not. According to his statement BB act as if he is surprised that he wasn't welcomed (with an entourage)in tow. It seem that from the beginning the welcome mat was Not being placed at his feet!!

bobby brown is such a turd. everything has to be about him. so glad they kicked his sorry black ass to the curb. from his statement he probably was there with his 20 kids from twenty different women. why would Whitney's family want all those hangers-on at the service? so glad he was told to leave.

What I don't get is why didn't he just sent his entourage home or at least keep two people like the invitation said. He didn't get kicked out he could of stayed and been there for his daughter.
