If this isn't a money grab, I don't know what is. How exposure to these child pageants contribute to healthy child development is beyond me. It seems to me that, Mothers, being their daughters primary role models, would be better off investing this considerable time, energy and money by empowering their children with high self-esteem, care for others, etc. in partcipating in non-frivolous, age-appropriate, intelligent and fun activities. One wonders if these child pageants pave the way to developing narcisstic personality traits?

First of all, the kid can't sing. Secondly, any mother who parades her kid around and puts her on TV should know that the media can twist things however they want. The best way to prevent this from happening is to let your kid be a kid and stay away from these stupid pageants that objectify children and turn them into Stepford dolls.

Sadly, just another way to extort money. If you don't want your daughter in the media, don't parade her around, she is a little girl, let her be one.
