Nephew of Rick Santorum: Vote Ron Paul!

by at . Comments

Former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum catapulted himself to the top tier of the Republican presidential race this week, losing the Iowa caucus by just eight votes.

With newly-minted contender status comes increased scrutiny, however. Santorum was booed off stage in New Hampshire yesterday for comments about gay marriage.

Not everyone in his own family is convinced he's up to the task, either. This week his nephew penned an editorial for the Daily Caller in support of ... Ron Paul.

Paul and Santorum

"If you want another big-government politician who supports the status quo to run our country, you should vote for my uncle, Rick Santorum," John Garver writes.

Garver, a 19-year-old student at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, continues:

"America is based on a strong belief in individual liberty. My uncle’s interventionist policies, both domestic and foreign, stem from his irrational fear of freedom not working.

It is not the government’s job to dictate to individuals how they must live. The Constitution was designed to protect individual liberty. My Uncle Rick cannot fathom a society in which people cooperate and work with each other freely.

When Republicans were spending so much money under President Bush, my uncle was right there along with them as a senator. The reason we have so much debt is not only because of Democrats, but also because of big-spending Republicans like my Uncle Rick.

It is because of this inability of status quo politicians to recognize the importance of our individual liberties that I have been drawn to Ron Paul. Unlike my uncle, he does not believe the American people are incapable of forming decisions.

He believes that an individual is more powerful than any group (a notion our founding fathers also believed in).

Another important reason I support Ron Paul is his position on foreign policy. He is the only candidate willing to bring our troops home, not only from the Middle East, but from around the world.

Ron Paul seems to be the only candidate trying to win the election for a reason other than simply winning the election. This year, I’ll vote for an honest change in our government.

I’ll vote for real hope. I’ll vote for a real leader. This year, I will vote for Ron Paul."

The candidates square off, along with frontrunner Mitt Romney, in debates Saturday night and Sunday morning in New Hampshire, which holds its primary Tuesday.

Expect fireworks.

Having served this country and shed blood for it - I feel I have a say. I grew up in Viet Nam. Spent two years there. Spent my 18th birthday on a hillside over looking Danang after eleven months of specialised military training in the "art" of war. War is not a good thing for young people. Many do not survive - somtimes physically but most times emotionally. I'm 64 now and only in the past few years have been able to talk about my war experiences. The only good thing for me being "over there" is that I discovered marijuna in my first week in country. I sincerely believe it saved my life from that time to today. I will cast my vote for Dr. Ron Paul for obvious reasons that anyone who has researched him will understand. Ron Paul Rising!

Don't fall for that Liberal Media Mind Games! They would love to see Paul in the mix. They want him as the 3rd Party. Splitting Votes is something Paul wont do.

To Reed: Obama not a leader?
Sure he is!
He’s just headed the wrong way! I don’t understand why most of the republican candidates are in such a hurry to start WW3.
Ron Paul looks like the only one who wants to stop it.

If we elected a man like ron paul, they would change their ideas of american government.
That's all they want, according to them. To stop being punished by us. They have stood up and fought us. We have smacked them back down. They get back up. We send drones. They capture them. We threaten them. They hate us.
To me, it really seems like a viscous cycle. We are both perpetuating it now.
Who will be the big man and step up and Finish This?
I dunno, seems like ron's ideas are actually the most practical and LEAST crazy when you really check them out. It seems like his foreign policy is actually safer than all the rest. Like his economic policy blows the others' out of the water.

Once again, as we invade, the opposition increases. As we use tactical strike drones on their civilia- they become defensive militia- Wouldn't we? I can guarantee we would. The human sense in defending yourself is not american, it is a human reaction. Anyone will do this. And all have.
All except the TRULY exceptional men. The nonviolent men. Men like gandhi...you know...the passive aggressive type. So. Don't like being in danger?Don't like the idea of middle eastern people hating americans and trying to kill us? Neither did I. But I realized something amazing.

it's been 10 years. We're in isreal. We've conquered Iraq. We've taken care of business in Libya. We come through and wreck things.
They started it! They started it by responding to little things like tarrifs and sanctions with COLD BLOODED MURDER! AND they HATE CHRISTIANS! So do we stoop to that level? Do we kill them off before they can kill us off?
And if we do, HOW ? Are we going to wipe the entire middle eastern desert, looking for any opposers?

Ron Paul is the greatest of them all. I have watched the debates in Iowa and in New Hampshire and has been monitoring the poll results between now and then. He should be winning the New Hampshire polls on Tuesday, as well as beat the others in South Carolina. The United States will be better off if he becomes the President. The whole world will be at peace if his foreign policies will be implemented. It is very important to prevent war! Ladies and gentlemen, please support Ron Paul!

There is not enought Black registered to Vote to Elect anyone. Whites Voted for Obama. So the Racism -it will not hold water. Unless of Course you want to try and Guilt some people into voting for him again? Good luck. Obama has not earned any respect. He won by Default. People looked at McCain and they saw Bush. Obama will give it all away. The question the "Fence Stradlers" are asking themselves? Do I want to stay in this "Sea of Shit" for another 4 Years or do I want that " Warm Fuzzy" and not be accused of being Racist! The Kardashians are still on the air- Living proof anything can happen. Obama is not a Leader!
