Those of you that are angry that is fine. I will choose to pray for Bill Maher, he needs our prayers that GOD will find someone to melt his heart so that he will know the truth. That Jesus will find a way into his heart and he will know a peace that surpasses all understanding.
Maher is not funny, nothing more than a smart a$$! What is he had made the same remarks about a muslim? I canceld my HBO today. Enough is enough,. Tebow donates more time and money than maher, and does so out of the kindness of his heart and by his faith.
Why is it ok to all you liberal idiots for Maher to spout off his atheist BS and anyone how beleives in god is a target. Remember FREE SPEECH???? You were all shouting it from the roof tops when the occuidots were ruining public property all over the country. Tebow has his own personal reaction to things..why does that bother you all so much? He is not on your TV or radio everyday telling you what to think and not to think like Maher is, so whois trying to push thier agenda more???? I don't hear Maher b*tching about the gay pride parade.
OK, Maher is an atheist. That's his right; it's a free country. By for a guy who is an atheist, why does he feel such a need to offend the religious. It does suggest to me that he feels some need to reinforce in his own mind his own atheist belieffs. Generally someone secure in their beliefs doesn't feel the need to belittle others who believe otherwise. And please let's not make this about conservative and liberal. Yes, Maher is liberal and, yes, the FoxNews and Pat Robertson types are out there damning Maher to hell. But you do not have to be right-wing, fundamentalist or even Christian to be offended by Maher's low-class, disgusting comments. I find the Christian right a perversion of Christianity. But I still feel offended by this man's vileness. By the way, has Maher ever considered what percentage of charity for the poor and needy in the world comes from the religious out not to prosletyze but simply to do good works.
Once again, the proudly paranoid fundies rally against some (non-existent) "threat" to their version of Christianity. (remember when they decided that there was a "war on Christmas" a few years back? I was embarrassed for them) First of all, Bill Maher likes to provoke the religious far-right and when they all get their proverbial panties in a wad over something he said, he has done what he set out to do. Secondly, I feel that the whole "mainstream media hates Christianity" is hogwash stated by televangelists & other right-wing media in order to frighten their audience into ONLY believing them. The right-wing fundie types who use this generalisation seem to spew venom at anything that contradicts their dogma (including science education, history, yet willfully ignore parts of the Bible itself) Remember, Fundies-judge not, lest ye be judged! Do good works. Help the needy. That's true Christianity, not raging out on a non-problem!
