Maksim Chmerkovskiy Gets Tough on Hope Solo
by Free Britney at .Maksim Chmerkovskiy largely kept a very low profile this week.
On the heels of laying into the judges for their critiques on Dancing With the Stars a week ago, he was more or less reserved this week. Except in rehearsals.
Last night, viewers saw a clip from a group rehearsal in which Maks got aggressive with partner Hope Solo, at one point appearing to push her in the shoulder.
He was then shown exiting the room, leaving others uncomfortable. But Hope says she has no problem with Maks' teaching style - in fact, she encourages it.
"Obviously it's working," she said backstage. "We're here for the 7th week. We're getting OK scores. You wouldn't want to see me if he wasn't tough on me."
The judges praised Hope's improvement this week, so there's something to it. Check out their routine below and see the soccer star in action with Maks ...

I will not watch dwts any more if they take maks off the show. He has never got a young girl or a small person to dance with. If you take notice maks always gets older and larger women every years. Why can,t you be fair on the show. I am very disappointed with the show this year. Keep up with your favortisment and the show is going to go down in veiwers. I have watch this show every year since it came on and hope I see the judges to be more fair to all the dancers. Watching the judges judge you have your favorites and don,t see anything good others do. M
Uhhhh,hellooo.c'mon ppl its obvious max has personal issues...its no wonder why the ahole is single. I never see derrick huff using that type of teaching technique w/anyone&its obvious he's a great teacher whereas max isn't. Max may be a good dancer,but doesn't have ppl skills. Something to thnk about....hope solo got better after being taught by someone else when max injured his toe, aaaand she obviously had more fun being taught by the other guy too. I wouldn't miss max at all if he never returned to dwts. I wonder if max's father treats his mother the way he treated hope????
I won't let my 8 year old daughters watch the show any longer. A role model like Hope Solo is pushed around by some low class truck stop restroom boy who calls himself a man. He should be taken off the show.
Wait...voting for Maks? What if his partner really sucks? Do you still vote for him? I thought this was voting for the stars, not for the pros.
Maks told Len that maybe it is time he leaves the show, but I think it is time Maks leaves the show. His attitude and ego, then his aggression toward his partner, is the behavior of an abusive man. I lost all respect for him and used to root him and his partners on. Not anymore after the way he was physical with Hope.
