Lindsay Lohan is a very pretty girl ... until you get a close-up of her face.

The starlet is attracting unwanted attention (what else is knew) after showing up for a red carpet appearance in L.A. this week with a seriously busted grill.

Lindsay Lohan photos such as the one below show what appear to be rapidly yellowing, brittle teeth (plus nail polish streaks and blotches on her hands) ...

Lindsay Lohan may want to call up the dentist.

Her rep, a very busy man these days, doesn't see any stain on her reputation.

"Lindsay is widely acknowledged as one of the most stunning actresses of her day," her rep, Steve Honig, tells People. "She's been on the cover of Vanity Fair and the top beauty and fashion magazines. She's a beautiful and glamorous actress."

Yes, Steve. That was also around 2004.

"In a time of deteriorating public education, rampant homelessness and international unrest, there is no way I'm going to comment on Lindsay's teeth," he added.

First of all, you're her rep. Second, you can talk about those issues as well as Lindsay's teeth on the same day. Third ... WTF is going on with Lindsay's face?!?
