Brace yourselves, movie-goers, for May 2012. Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr. and Samuel L. Jackson have built a dream team.

The release of the first trailer for The Avengers (below) marks the next step in piecing together the puzzle that will be one of next year's most anticipated blockbusters.

The ultimate comic-book bonanza, the film features Iron Man (Downey), Captain America (Evans), Thor (Hemsworth), the Black Widow (Johansson) and the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) for a big-screen team-up like no other - with Joss Whedon at the helm.

    when i saw the trailer i was laughing to tony stark's snark with the captain, he always center of attention, thor's laughing like a kid. i like the action... hulk is appearing i hope he smash villains in this movie.
