Taylor Swift Previews New Album as "Sad"

Taylor Swift has packed a great deal into this summer. She's gone on tour, she's sang duets with fun guest artists, she's filmed her first fragrance ad.

And she's also spent time writing new songs for an album that will be released in 2012.

Can she give fans a tiny preview of what those singles will be about?

"They're sad, if I'm being honest," Taylor told The New Yorker of the 10 tracks she's penned so far, adding that a recent one she wrote "is about moving on."

But Swift doesn't want to give off the idea that he's depressed. Far from it. The young crooner sounds closer to enlightened, saying she's learned how life is "about achieving contentment" and "you're not always going to be ridiculously happy."

Look for that mature viewpoint to play a major role on her upcoming album. We can't wait to hear it.
