Sister Wives Recap: So Much Jealousy!

by at . Comments

"Sometimes, I don't like this."

Pretty much. Being married to one woman is hard enough. Imagine four! Or think about sharing your husband with three other women. Not what we signed up for ...

Only for Kody Brown and his quartet of spouses, they did sign up for it. This is what they do, and like all of us, their lives feature drama and tension beneath the surface.

Unlike all of us, there's a TLC show devoted to the Browns ...

Robyn, Meri, Janelle, Christine Brown

So what went down last night? While Kody was excited to announce the sex of Robyn's baby, he reflected on the problems he faced with his first three marriages.

Marriages that are still going on, of course.

Christine, with whom he's currently having serious marital discord, expressed frustration with the family's new Las Vegas living situation. It's been an adjustment.

She is lonely. She feels Kody coddles Robyn, although she adores Kody and Robyn. It's just that he leaves for four days at a time, and frankly that blows (our words).

The Brown Bomber muses that "jealousy creeps in when one wife says in her mind 'he loves her more than me.'" Dude, when ya got four of 'em, that's inevitable.

In spite of all that, Kody is quick to note that "I've loved [Christine] all my life." Ditto first wife Meri, whom he calls his "soul mate," and who's in it for the long haul.

With Janelle, Kody says their strongest bond is their kids. Speaking of, Robyn's unborn child, the family's 17th in all, is totes going to be a ... boy baby! NICE!

When Robyn told the doctor that Kody had four wives and 17 kids, his reaction was just priceless, even though he had to know it was coming, being filmed and all.

His take? "That's, I guess, cool." I guess. Gotta love Nevada, where people could pretty much not give a bleep as long as you're otherwise law-abiding. And paying.

That brings us to Kody's other goal, besides marital stability. Dude isn't made of money, and that is a lot of mouths to feed. So how will he accomplish that task?

By going into business with all four of his wives. Somehow. His initial idea is a family food franchise that is health oriented. The wives? Less than enthusiastic.

Hey, TLC isn't gonna front all their living costs for life. Better figure something out, gang. What did you think of this installment of Sister Wives? Sound off below!

Not that long ago there was a law that made fornication illegal. It could still be a law in Utah as far as I know and I think if they are going to prosecuten the Browns for polygamy they must also prosecute all the people living together without even pretending to be married. The women and children in these relationships are far more likely to be left on wefare when he decides there is no committment and takes off. To me that is the crime.

If it was'nt for going against the bible in my way of thinking.. I would not mind having sister wives, my husband needs too much attention, I wouldlove to have two or three other women to help me out with him and give me a break.. I think thats why men like the idea of having more than one woman, they need as much if not more attention than kids.. It is exausting lol

The truth is that Kody is "married" to Meri. The other 3 are mistresses. He has one legitimate child, the rest are bastards. Meri is the only one who can draw from his social security, except for any child who is not of age. They would like everyone to think that they were being persecuted for their lifestyle and that is the reason for the investigation in Utah. It probably has more to do with something like welfare fraud. I wonder how they file their taxes too? I think Kody is an egotistical idiot and I think the "wives" are pathetic women.

Sister Wives is like train wreck you just can’t look away. Actually it’s not that bad just a little frustrating to watch. As a middle of the road catholic democrat, I say live and let live. Yet… Someone needs to work while the other members of the adult Brown clan work on starting up a realistic business or franchise. Maybe in fairy tales, love and family values pay the rent. Someone needs to splash some cold water of reality on the Browns. Whoever can land a job in Nevada’s downtrodden market needs to do so. If Kody and his wives love their children, they will get their head out of the clouds and start providing for them. Overall the family appears healthy and mentally sound, just oblivious to reality. What happens if TLC cancels the show??? Economic Doom and Welfare.

I think that Christine misses the communal living more than she misses Kody. She has repeatedly said that she wanted a family, not just a husband. I think that moving onto a single property will help reunite the clan.

I started out really liking this show. Thats definetley changed with Robyn's pregnancy. The "favorite wife" stand out like a sore thumb. So long!

I really like this show. The lifestyle is NOT for me because I wouldn't want to share my husband, but I think that they seem like a loving and happy family so who am I to judge? Everyone has their problems. They are no different from anyone else. It is sad that they had to pick up and move because they all seemed much happier in Utah. However, I don't feel like it should be illegal for them to live the way that they do. Men go out all the time and get multiple women pregnant and that is not illegal. This guy actually is putting all his kids together with the women and they live like a big happy family. The kids say they don't want to take on the lifestyle later (most of them), but they all say that they love having the big family. I think that is a really wonderful thing that they have so many people love them. I even like the "idea" of sister wives, but I wouldn't want to share a husband and I'm not real interested in having that many kids.

i love this show,i am fascinated by the idea of sister wives.i raised 4 children as a single mom with very little help and i would have appreciated having sister wives to help me and to be friends with the only downsize is the man as in my experience the husband really doesnt help raise the children.i hope they never cancel the show and i wish kody would man up and go back to utah.the kids would be happy, the wives would be happy and kody would be.i seriously dont think the utah prosecuters would have followed through with charging the browns as that would leave them open to having to go after all pologyimist families and if they did all they have to do is watch the show to see what a loving family they are and how great the kids kody please do the right thing for your entire family and move back to your home in utah.but if not i will still watch as this is the one tv show i actually look forward to.

How would Kody feel if each of the wives had several husband's? For Ribyn, this family is her meal ticket.
