im really just done with the whole "TMZ"-style entertainment and gossip.. that and people are way too sensitive and offended way too easily. not everything said has a direct line to your life, so dont view it that way, i think it speaks volumes that people who have been raped are standing up for Johnny depp's choice of words, and saying that RAINN has no need to get involved. i personally have been through hell in the past few years, and prior to that my life was no picnik. i have dealt with abusive people and overbearing people, neither of which i will tolerate anymore, but a comedian making a joke or an artist using a comparison in connection with these matters has no effect on me because it shouldnt. RAINN needs to mind its own business, and society needs to let these artists have their lives back. you cannot have a life with no privacy.. because then it is no longer yours and you have to share it with the world. thats not how it should be.
Frankly, IF he were to apologize I wouldn't believe it anyway!! (not that he needs to)
There are far too many insincere apologies floating around out there. $$$$$$$
I was raped by three men at a deserted rapid staion one night at knifepoint when I was a young woman. It was hideous. The act of rape is horrible; the word "rape" has no power unless we assign power to it. Mr. Depp is a very sensitive and decent person. He meant no harm. It's just a word, people. Concentrate more on punishing the rapists and teaching your male children to respect women. Don't punish the person who uses a word.
WOW really First people attack Hank JR now Johnny what's the world coming to....he's using an analogy (Think that's right) With the crazed fans and people w cameras always showing up catching his every move I'm sure he feels Raped an invasion of his privacy unwanted attention at times YES he may be an actor and in the Limelight but that doesn't mean he doesn't deserve privacy....I with ya Johnny don't apologize you did nothing wrong and FREEDOM of Speech say whatcha wanna say and how ya feel its your right...
