Prince Michael Jackson: Coming Into His Own

by at . Comments

Michael Jackson's eldest son, Prince Michael, is stepping into the spotlight.

The 14-year-old will be in Berlin, sans relatives, for a November 10 auction in support of a cause dear to his late father's heart: helping disadvantaged kids.

His dad's handwritten composition of "Bad" will be sold to the highest bidder, with ALL proceeds from the auction going to the Tribute to Bambi foundation.

The group supports organizations in Germany that aid needy children.

"Prince Michael Jackson will walk the red carpet and present the manuscript on stage surrounded by children," a spokesperson for the event says.

"He won't be traveling alone," says a source close to the event, noting he will have an encourage, "but no family members will be with him."

In 2002, when he was just five, Prince Michael visited Berlin with his father, sister Paris and then-baby brother Blanket for the same event.

It was then, staying at the Adlon Hotel on that occasion, that Michael infamously dangled Blanket over the balcony before his adoring fans.

In previous auctions for the charity, Michael's glittery jacket and an autographed guitar went on the block, in 2002 and 2009, respectively.

Those wishing to bid on Michael Jackson's "Bad" manuscript may do so at any point online between now and November 10, at United Charity.

Asked to predict how much the original, one-of-a-kind manuscript might fetch, a spokeswoman laughed and said, "Hopefully, a whole lot!"

It's an awesome song. Maybe you've heard it?

Michael Jackson's children had a "secluded" childhood, they admit in a rare new interview.

Well Done Prince, for continuing your Dad's legacy. What a wonderful man, and so sadly missed. He would be so proud of the young man you have become!

I think it's awesome that the kids are following in their dad's footsteps with the charity thing. First the 10,000 dollar check to the shelter in L.A. (for those of you who think they're not helping people in the U.S.) and now this. Michael would be proud. His kids seem very mature and grown up for their ages, though they still clearly enjoy just being kids. I think that's a testament to their father. He did a great job with them, gave them as normal a life as he possibly could given the circumstances of his level of fame, and I have a feeling they're going to be his greatest defenders. :) People can talk till they're blue in the face about paternity, his parenting skills, but these are the three children that spent the most amount of time with him, and I truly believe that 30 years from now, they will continue to tell the world how much they love and miss their dad and how great of a father he was.
