Dancing With the Stars Recap: The Ricki Lake Show
On last week's Dancing With the Stars premiere, Chaz Bono stole the show, while Chynna Phillips and J.R. Martinez tied for first place after strong waltzes.
Who ended up in first this week? Did Chaz continue his decent, if not stellar dance moves? Who's in danger of following Metta World Peace out the door?
We have a new leader after Monday, and while it's none of the aforementioned three cast members, it's someone we considered a favorite going in ...
Derek Hough guided Ricki Lake right to the top of the leaderboard with a 23 Monday night, even though Len groused about wanting more jive content.
Just behind the Lake show was J.R., jumpin' and jivin' his way to a 22. Chynna stumbled a little and ended up two points back of the lead this week.
Also taking a step back was Hope Solo, whose timing and footwork were way off, and David Arquette, who ... we don't even know what that was.
As far as exceeding expectations, Rob Kardashian fared better with Cheryl Burke's take on the jive. So much so that he won a critical distinction:
"It's official!" hooted a happy Carrie Ann Inaba from the judges' panel. "Rob Kardashian is a better dancer than Kim Kardashian! No offense Kim!"
Not saying much, but hey. Baby steps.
Elisabetta Canalis' pretty lines bolstered her quickstep and helped her earn a score of 21, while Carson Kressley (18) was less than captivating.
Kristin Cavallari cut the quickstep with Mark Ballas and continued to look smoking hot en route to a 22, although Len was less moved than Bruno.
A major surprise last night was Nancy Grace, who received better feedback and a score of 21, despite a routine that moved almost in slow-mo.
Finally, bringing up the rear, was Chaz Bono. Battling inflammation in his knee joints as well as two left feat, he's alone at the bottom with 17.
All three judges were thrilled with his attitude, but noted that the routine moved far too slowly. He's definitely in danger. Will America save Chaz?
Demi Lovato performs on the results show tonight. Who will be at risk along with Mr. Bono? Here's how the Dancing With the Stars scores look:
- Ricki Lake & Derek Hough: 23
- J.R. Martinez & Karina Smirnoff: 22
- Kristin Cavallari & Mark Ballas: 22
- Chynna Phillips & Tony Dovolani: 21
- Elisabetta Canalis & Val Chmerkovskiy: 21
- Nancy Grace & Tristan MacManus: 21
- Rob Kardashian & Cheryl Burke: 21
- Hope Solo & Maks Chmerkovskiy: 19
- Carson Kressley & Anna Trebunskaya: 18
- David Arquette & Kym Johnson: 18
- Chaz Bono & Lacey Schwimmer: 17

I certainly don't expect Nancy Grace to win. She is too fat to be graceful and her boobs are too distracting. I think Ricki and Derekwill win it all. Of course, J.R. can move! I think he stands a good chance to win. Also, Mark Ballas is a phenominal dancer

Ogeyi iji, i agree...Rob Kardashian is a cutie..and i like David Arquette! Courtney Cox was there last night being supportive! i also like Elizabeth..Ga. Clooney's ex, i can see why he liked her!! Nancy Grace is also a family favorite of ours as far as dance..we don't care for her cable stuff, what we've heard of. She don't seem nice. But the show is about who can dance and she's actually more fun to watch than Ricki Lake!

i'm not for Ricki Lake..she is using this as a platform to raise money for a cause..it's not fair to the other dancers! This should be a fun show!! Not the Ricki Lake do good hour.

I just hope and pray that Nancy Grace can last longer because she is trying so hard to stay and that is what really counts.

Poor Chaz is probably suffering from arthritis. Being overweight is very hard on the knees. Couple that with the extreme amount of exercise he's had lately, and his knees are most likely full of fluid from cartilage damage. Hope he feels better soon. Loved J.R. last night. HIS routine was the best of the night, by far.

Wow mmm - maybe you should show just a little more class - that is, if you have any... Rob K still can't dance - JR Martinez can really move!
