Alec Baldwin Decries Troy Davis Execution, Lays Into Michelle Malkin
The execution of Troy Davis last night drew widespread criticism, including from 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin, who did not hold back on Twitter today.
Never one to shy away from controversial subjects, Baldwin made sure that his disgust over the Georgia man's death was heard loud and clear.
Of Davis' execution, which occurred at 11.08 p.m. by lethal injection, despite a plea for clemency, "The anti-justice haters won tonight," Baldwin said.

The 53-year-old actor went on to make a stream of politically passionate comments that attracted both praise and criticism from Twitter followers.
He referred to the family of police officer Mark McPhail, who was gunned down rushing to the aid of a homeless man in a Burger King parking lot in 1989.
"Wonder if the MacPhail family will seek death penalty for US leaders who killed thousands of US soldiers and countless innocent Iraqis," tweeted Alec.
He then went on a Twitter rampage about his disgust in the execution of 42-year-old Davis, which was based on questionable eyewitness evidence.
"Every sensible American is appalled when police officer is killed. But the attendant charges are grave. U don't want 2 kill an innocent man."
"Troy Davis is still dead. The gulf, still contaminated. Fukushima, still radioactive. Iraq, war. #wecraveignorancesowecanshoplikeamericans"
He then went after conservative blogger Michelle Malkin,after she wrote: "Waiting for Hollyweirdo @alecbaldwin's "I am Troy Davis" tweet..."
To which he replied: "Davis is dead Does that make you happier, @michellemalkin?" He wasn't done there, hitting her with this comment:
"I wonder if @michellemalkin will push the needle in herself on a man the former FBI director said might have reasonable doubt on his side."
Baldwin, who has reportedly considered venturing into politics, was far from the only Hollywood star to weigh in on this cause celebre.
Following her messages of support to Daivs on Wednesday, Kim Kardashian was upset to wake up on Thursday and discover he was dead.
"Such an injustice!!!! Troy Davis was executed! My prayers are with the Davis Family! #RIPTroyDavis," the professional celebrity tweeted.

Alec Baldwin--the guy has fire and courage to say the truth about certain current events! He knows about the Gulf Wars, BP Gulf of Mexico, & GE/TEPCO Fukushima disasters, which kill many thousands, even millions in Japan! RIP, Mr. Davis and the many other innocents in prison for various reasons. And RIP, crime victims, who can never be fully vindicated by more death, can they? Michelle Malkin can stuff it--what a twerp!

BALDWIN IS A JERK! He once again is opening his big mouth where it doesn't belong. He's lucky not to be charged for child abuse. Davis was a trouble-maker and got what he deserved.

I read an article that said this incident arose when Troy DAVIS and a consort, another black male, WERE SEEN BEATING A HOMELESS MAN WITH THE BUTT OF A GUN IN ORDER TO STEAL HIS BEER, that the officer ran up to stop the assault and that the officer was shot dead by one of the assailants who had a smirk on his face as he fired. the gun was never found, but shells that matched a gun linked to Davis in a prior shooting were.
If this is true, THEN THERE WAS INDEED PHYSICAL EVIDENCE LINKING DAVIS TO THE SHOOTING, regardless of if a gun was found. the officer was shot, shells found, res ipsa loquitur.
If the above facts are true, then it is irrelevant if Davis pulled the trigger or not. Under the Felony Murder Rule, DAVIS would be equally responsible for the death of the officer as the person who pulled the trigger. In fact, if another officer came to assist, and the first officer was accidently shot by friendly fire, the two men engaged in a felony would be as responsible for that

I support Alec Baldwin all the way! The Macphail family is more perpetrator than victim. How can they be satisfied with the execution of a man who was innocent? Whose guiltiness was doubtful when 7 out of 9 witnesses who were pressured to convict Davis retracted their testimony? How many black men must die for them to sleep at night? There is clear evidence against Amanda Knox, but so many white americans believe her innocence. In America, whites believe black means guilty.

I too feel that the execution of Troy Davis should not have happened especially when there was still some questions that should have been looked into. However Alec Baldwin is dead wrong to go after the McPhail family and his comments were out of line in my opinion. This family too suffered a big loss and can hardly be blamed for wanting the death penalty against whoever murdered their loved one. However, they should have been willing to take time too to see if indeed the right man was found, but unfortunately most victims and their families are too emotional to think rationally or to be patient when they feel their loved one's murderer is found. They can't be blamed for it, and Alec's comments were unnecessary. I hope the Davis family does find the real murderer not only for themselves but for the MacPhail family as well. I can understand the frustration felt by many here, but its wrong to go after the victim or his family.

@Gary
You also say "Witnesses lied 20 years ago , if they are recanting their testimony. What is the guarantee they are not lying again ?"
Yes, exactly. This is what is known in the legal system as REASONABLE DOUBT.

@Gary
You say that "One cannot kill a cop and get away with , or we will have no more cops "
Well if Troy Davis was indeed innocent, then guess what that means? The person who ACTUALLY killed that cop absolutely DID get away with it. Dont you understand that every single time an innocent man goes to jail--or in this case is put to death--a guilty man goes free to stalk the streets with impunity?

Witnesses lied 20 years ago , if they are recanting their testimony. What is the guarantee they are not lying again ? They could have been bought over by the pro-life brigade.
Executions should be done within few weeks of the verdict or otherwise all sorts of power centers will try to influence it.

We must institute a system where he criminal chooses his own punishment. If a victim is killed with kindness, so be it. If a victim is killed with a gun or an axe, so be it. We can say, "sorry you chose such a gruesome punishment" but then carry it out. It also must happen quickly, not 5, 10 or 20 years later. There must be a fast and resolute action taken. No long discussions. If there is a doubt, that should be considered. A very distinct and immediate cost for committing the violence might make some of our creeps think about their actions.

I think that the death penalty is horrible if it could bring back the murdered then that would be different , we have far to long killed innocent people & as for the Gov of Ga why couldn't he have waited, why do it a few hours after the Supreme made that ruling & they weren't even that sure, why do we as human beings have to put people to death, if they are really guilty let them rot in jail,& from what I have seen these people look like animals after a while, you take away anyones freedom & they just die anyway
