Jennifer Lopez Believes in Love, Speaks on Split

Jennifer Lopez has been engaged four times and married three times. She's yet to make a relationship truly stick. But, speaking out for the first time since her divorce from Marc Anthony, the singer/actress says she remains an "eternal optimist."

"I believe in love," J. Lo says in the latest issue of Vanity Fair.

What led to the split? Did Anthony nail some stewardess? Lopez won't get into details, but does admit it took her awhile to have the kind of self-confidence required to make such a life change.

"Sometimes we don't realize that we are compromising ourselves. To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself... if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me."

Lopez says she will "always respect" Marc as a professional and says the father of her three-year old twins will "always be in our lives," holding a "special place" in her heart. But it's time to look ahead.

"I am positive, determined to move forward with my life, bring up my babies, and do the best job I can as a mother, entertainer, and person. I now look forward to new challenges. I feel strong.”

    oh! jess...j-who talking about love. j-who should just have affairs...different man everyday. j-who is just that type of woman...she can't help herself. she wants to be the first latina elezabeth taylor in this era. as long as the media uses her butt to make to make big bucks...they'll just laugh and smile to every negative comments about her. j-who don't even read what the public has to say.

    It truly amazes me how people feel the need to be judgmental of other lives. Look into the mirror and fix yourself before you pass judgment on others. There is always 2 sides to every story. Apparently only a few know the facts, and they aren't talking. Whether the divorce is the right or wrong thing isn't for me or you to decide, but I feel sad for the innocent children. People who bash others like this need counseling.

    @ fab5... she is a slut! look at her past. Difference is now she has kids! She's never taken a break from men and never will. She will be the next Elizabeth Taylor (RIP). Everyone has skeletons in the closet true, but many people quit their sh*t after motherhood. you can't be 42 and act 18. We grow up and mature for the sake of our kids. People that defend her are probably like her or even worse. Just caring about d*ck and never being a "real mom" to their kids. Let me remind you, anyone can be a mother, but it takes guts and balls to BE A MOTHER!
