In the wake of Russell Armstrong's suicide, numerous past and present members of the Real Housewives family have spoken out, sending their thoughts and prayers to this troubled man's loved ones.
Danielle Staub? She's taken the opportunity to bring the focus back to her and her own painful struggle.
If Danielle Staub needs help, we hope she gets it. Away from the camera and the spotlight.
"I was very close to taking my own life - not just on one occasion," Staub told Entertainment Tonight this week. "And what always saved me was the thought of my children living with that for the rest of their lives. I didn't want them to have that memory of me. I wanted them to remember me - even if I'm going through my struggles - alive."
So, just to read behind the self-serving lines: Danielle Staub is a stronger, more thoughtful person than Russell Armstrong.Referring to the affect reality TV can have, Danielle adds that "it's really hard to talk to people who are not in our genre about what really goes on when the lights go down... it's hard to explain to people who aren't doing this for a living." How has she responded to such difficulty? By doing reality TV for a living.
Staub stars on VH1's Famous Foods alongside such other stalwarts as Heidi Montag and Jake Pavelka.
