Al Jazeera, the Qatar-based news station that remains controversial in the U.S. due to its association, however indirect, with Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda, is now available in the NYC market, in English, according to the N.Y. Times.

The news network, unsurprisingly, has struggled to establish a foothold in America, but is now subletting cable space from RISE, a suburban New York channel, and will simulcast 23 hours of programming each day.

Al Jazeera English already has a similar business relationship with another cable channel in the Washington, D.C. market. Will you be tuning in?!
