Tracy Morgan Apologizes for Anti-Gay Comedy Routine

by at . Comments

Tracy Morgan is sorry.

The comedian came under fire today when word got out about a set in Nashville last Friday that included a mean-spirited diatribe against gay people. It was both insulting and not remotely funny.

"I want to apologize to my fans and the gay and lesbian community for my choice of words at my recent stand-up act in Nashville," Morgan said, under pressure to retract his statements.

Added the 30 Rock star: "While I am an equal opportunity jokester, and my friends know what is in my heart, even in a comedy club this clearly went too far and was not funny in any context."

Do you accept this apology?

Wouldn't it be funny if Morgan joked about stabbing your family! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. And, BTW, your comment is a total contradiction. You can't claim to be the great defender of free speech on the one hand, while simultaneously complaining that gays should stifle theirs. Idiot. The true sentiment behind your post is obvious. You are a card-carrying homophobe.

all you gays and lesbians. GIVE it a rest free country he can say whatever the hell he wants to say. POINT BLANK

Joking or not, he should no better. Remember the saying "there is some truth in every joke". If a comment was made about race or religion from a white person their career would be up in smoke.

Oh and, if you're going to spit hateful and idiotic black remarks, GTFO. No one wants to hear your KKK-esque comments. Jesus.

He does sound pretty sorry, and from a genuine perspective. I think he was probably just kidding, but doesn't realize that at this point in the fight against prejudice, it isn't safe to joke about these things, nor is it funny in any context. He also took his act a little too far with the things he said, and he probably thought they would spur more laughs than homophobic accusations.

just like don lemon from cnn (who is black and gay)said in his autobiography, this hate against gays is a black thing. black hatred against gays - period. so why is it people are shunned when they have no tolerance for blacks? just that same hatred, reversed.
