Today, THG Asks: Should Chris Brown offer a real apology for uttering a gay slur yesterday?

YES by Free Britney

You might not believe this after I condemned the gay slur he uttered yesterday, but I do think Chris Brown is unfairly scrutinized sometimes. He's under a microscope.

He just wants to live his life. Some people want him to fail. Unfair, but the reality is that it's inevitable, he brought it upon himself, and he has to control his anger.

I don't believe Chris is homophobic because he said "y'all n!ggas is gay" to those photographers. I believe he meant it as slang, as a generic put-down.

The intent means little to his gay fans and the community at large, though. He hurled "gay" as an insult. It's offensive, and a half-ass apology won't cut it.

I don't expect you to be perfect, Chris, but I'd love to think that you're a good guy who can be the bigger person, admit fault and show compassion.

Now that would show the haters. Kill them with kindness!

NO by Hilton Hater

Chris Brown is a violent man, with a clear anger problem, who clearly isn't very tolerant of the gay lifestyle.

I disagree with just about everything he has said or done over the past couple years.

But the consistent behavior, tone and language at least prove one thing: this is who Brown really is.

At the very least, the singer should man up and accept that fact. Embrace it. Cater to the loyal fan base who will apparently defend him through thick and thin, through homophobic slurs and roundhouse punches to the opposite sex's face.

Why bother making lame, half-hearted apologies such as the one offered this week? Brown obviously didn't mean a word of it, and those who have stuck by him through these incidents don't think he needs to show remorse over them anyway.

The rest of us? We don't want a phony attempt at contrition. If you're gonna be a prick, be a prick all the way. Don't half-ass it.

THG Asks you ... should Chris offer a real apology?

I'm wit you Kellie

There wasn't anything said that was offensive to gays. Anyway, who really pays attention to what this asshole says??

This is GAY. Stop trying to be such a prick, not CB but YOU bloggers. The way a lot of people use the word gay is in no reference to the gay community. Just like the N word, its been thrown in our face time & time again but then nobody can use it. Get outta here. Like the first person writing said, the Gay community doesn't give a shit. Yes, these Gay NAACP wannabe's might come out runnin their mouth making statements, but they have other motives. Go ask a Gay guy/girl on the street if they care if Chris Brown said something was Gay and meant it in slang way as bad, and see if they care. NO! They will not.

Leave chris alone, so what he say gay nigga's! It would be different if he say nigger!!! Which that word is more powerful. The word nigga is a slang, for black people in our community and also in others. We dont used the word nigger!!! Everybody in united states use the word nigga. Even white, itlan, mexican, and chiness use that word. It just the way people used the word nigger.

I have to dissagree wit the fact that becuz he said sumone is gay he doesnt like gay ppl. I have a very bad habit of sayin things r gay and retarded... Im 25 ive been sayin stuff is retarded since grade school is a real hard habbit to stop. I have no problem wit gay ppl so when i say it, in my head i kno i dnt mean it to be hating on gay ppl. Im really tryin nt to say it but if u had a camera on me u wud most def catch me sayin it at least once so ima cut him slack for this one. And if we gona go afta him go all the way... Y doesnt neone care he said the slang for the n word? Cant have it both ways if we r gona act p.c

He should move to a remote island and never come back....ever.
