Report: Ryan Dunn VERY Drunk, Driving Up to 140 MPH at Time of Crash

by at . Comments

A toxicology report indicates that Jackass star Ryan Dunn was drunk when he crashed his Porsche on a Pennsylvania highway and died Monday morning.

Not only that, he was driving extremely fast, possibly up to 140 m.p.h.

Dunn, 34, died along with his friend Zachary Hartwell, 30, from West Chester, Pa. Both men suffered "blunt and thermal trauma" in the crash, which effectively turned Dunn's car into a fireball, according to the autopsy report.

Authorities say the toxicology results put Ryan Dunn's blood alcohol concentration at 0.196 percent. The Pennsylvania legal state limit is just 0.08.

Before the crash that took their lives, the two men had been in a bar in West Chester. Dunn had even Tweeted a photo of them drinking.

"The initial crash reconstruction investigation determined that Mr. Dunn's vehicle was traveling between 132-140 mph at the time of the collision," the West Goshen Police Chief, Michael Carroll, said in a statement.

It's all very tragic. It also reinforces Roger Ebert's point - however poorly timed and worded it may have been - about drunk driving (and speeding).

I read that the full autopsy report would take 4-6 weeks to be released. It only takes a short period of time for blood tests. This is also a high profile case so someone probably paid someone who works in the coroners office to release the information. Its not that the autposy itself takes 4-6 weeks because the body would be burried by then. Either way the photo he posted on twitter shows him drinking so i dont see why this is such a shock to everyone. I think we all expected it.

Ryan Dunn was a very funny man and I loved him on Jackass. But the truth of the matter is that because he decided to drink and drive and take his friend in the car with him, he killed himself and someone else. It's idiotic. He was a grown man who knew the dangers of drinking and driving. Say what you want, but if he would have survived and his friend was the only one who died, he would have been tried and sent to prison. That said, even though what he did was severly stupid, he and his friend deserve a nice, uninterupted funeral. And anyone who disrupts it better think about karma. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

The whole situation is in fact very sad. Everyday someone makes the choice to get behind the wheel after even one drink and they end up taking out someone other then themselves when they wreck. Ugliness about the situation is uncalled for. His friend made the choice to get in the car with him and for all we know they were enjoying the speed of the car and laughing when they crashed. The only misguided anger they have will be at those that come to trash an event to celebrate the lives that were lost which is totally pathetic. This whole event should be a wake up call to everyone that even one drink impairs your driving. My prayers go out to both of the family's and friends and I pray that kids every where realize it's not cool to drink and drive.

Yes he made a bad judgement call and shouldnt have got behind the wheel or driven that fast. Everyone makes mistakes, some worse that others. My heart goes out to his family in this horrible time. And no matter what the case may be no one HAS THE RIGHT to do anything disrespectfull during the funeral!!! Anyone with a heart will let the families morn in peace! This is someones son, brother, uncle we are talking about. Ask yourselves this.... would you want anything negative at a funeral of someone you love? I bet you answer no!!!!! R.I.P. Ryan you will be missed
