PTC Lays Into Rihanna, "Man Down" Music Video

by at . Comments

The Parents Television Council is at it again.

This time, the group is going after Rihanna, thanks to the "cold, calculated execution of murder" depicted in the singer's new music video for "Man Down."

Outraged over RiRi suggesting "that gunning down a rapist in a crowded train station is a proper form of justice," the PTC wants this video pulled:

The council says, "If Chris Brown shot a woman in his new video and BET premiered it, the world would stop. Rihanna should not get a pass ..."

Rihanna's Tweet that the video conveys "a very strong underlying message 4 girls like me" is also at the root of the group's objections.

The council's venom is also directed at BET for airing the video. What do you think? Is the PTC going too far - or did Rihanna and BET?

Wow. They are more concerned about the murder and less about the rape of a woman.........interesting.

I didn't and won't listen to the song. We have enough problems with our young people killing each other. I don't care what the circumstances are...violence is not the answer. Period. She got a pass with the Eminem song where she condones being tied down and set on fire and now this too. I will continue to boycott her music as long as she gives this message. BTW this is NOT THE RIGHT MESSAGE TO WOMEN. I don't care how you try to justify it to sell CD's

I agree with the comment PTC made about Chris Brown. She should use her brain when it comes to this subject. She's sending a message and just because she was in an abusive relationship doesn't mean its right.

I get asked about it all the time and I’m like, You’re asking, but you know the answer. I don’t even like to address it anymore.
