Mother of Selena Gomez to Daughter: Slow Down!

The 18-year old was hospitalized last week for high blood pressure and exhaustion, and it's easy to understand why. Just take a look at her schedule:
Gomez has been promoting the movie Monte Carlo and hyping a new single, both of which involve giving multiple interviews (she has 30 on tap over the next few days) and multiple performances. She also has to deal with crazy Justin Bieber fans.
"She is one of the hardest working people in show business, but now even Selena knows she needs to slow down," an insider tells Pop Eater. "You have no idea how much work goes into promoting a record or a film."
Fortunately, Selena has a supportive family by her side. Her mother, Mandy, is taken especially active steps to help her daughter these days."Selena's mom is amazing," a friend says. "She doesn't want to be in the spotlight herself like so many other celebrity parents. Instead she just wants to make sure that her daughter remains normal while living such an extraordinary life."
Let's all hope Selena and her team can find a healthy balance in the star's personal and professional life.
