Emily Maynard Confirms Split with Brad Womack

by at . Comments

Remove that .01% from the equation, readers: Emily Maynard and Brad Womack are most definitely over.

"We're no longer engaged," Maynard says in the latest issue of People. The statement came just minutes after she taped an interview with Chris Harrison that will air on the July 11 episode of The Bachelorette.

With speculation growing every week over Emily and Brad's status, Maynard says she's confirming the couple's split now because she wants her life with six-year-old daughter, Ricki to "get back to normal."

Womack, who will NOT appear on camera next month with Maynard and Harrison, also told People he and Emily were over, stating: "The demise of our relationship was completely my fault."

But Emily isn't interested in assigning blame: "Just because we love each other doesn't mean we're right for each other," she says.

What a boring, mature, staged break-up. Where are the Jake and Vienna-like fireworks?!?

@Ingrid The fact that Emily puts Ricki before her man means she's a good mom with a strong head on her shoulders. A single mother should always put their child first. Romance can fade, but maternal bonds are forever. If Brad is any kind of decent man then he likely understood and supported that decision. Perhaps Emily was willing to move to Texas until she and Brad experienced their relationship in the real world and she learned things about Brad that she could not live with. Did you ever think of that? The fact is, we the viewers know nothing of what went on between them or the real reason for the demise of their relationship. All we know is what we saw on television and even that is questionable, due to all the editing and producer-related shenanigans. We should accept what we see on these shows as fiction, and resist the temptation to judge.

I never liked Emily, I know alot of people were rotting for her and Brad to be together, but I knew from the very beginning that she wasn't a good girl for Brad, she was always talking about her daughter on the show and that she is very overprotective of her, brad should take that as a hint that he will always be second and the daughter will have 100% attention from emily. Too bad, Chantal or Ashley would have been way better more Brad. It's sad when guys only go for the look and not the overall package. emily is beautiful but I find her very fake and a little mean. She said she was willing to move away with brad on the show, but after she won, she had completely changed her mind. She played Brad and also screwed Chantal and Ashley's chances to be with brad.
