With Clarence Clemons slowly recovering from a stroke, Bruce Springsteen has issued his first statement on the condition of his close friend and bandmate.

"Clarence will need much care and support to achieve his potential once again," The Boss wrote. "He has his wonderfully supportive wife, Victoria, excellent doctors and health care professionals and is surrounded by friends and family.

“I thank you all for your prayers and positive energy and concern. This is a time for us all to share in a hopeful spirit that can ultimately inspire Clarence to greater heights.”

The family of this iconic saxophonist, seen above rocking out with the E Street Band, also issued a statement. It reads:

”Clarence’s family appreciates your concern and wants to let you know that you can send him your wishes via e-mail to"

Excuse us while we go do exactly that.

The Most Caring Child Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a
contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest
was to find the most caring child.
The winner was a four-year-old child,
whose next-door neighbor was an elderly
gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the
man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard,
climbed onto his lap and just sat there. When his mother
asked him what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy
said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry." Just being there means everything.... Peace to the immediate family and the extended ‘E Street Band Family’ We wish you all strength and courage

Hope you get well soon

Best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.
