Amanda Brumfield Convicted of Manslaughter
by Hilton Hater at .Amanda Brumfield, the daughter of Billy Bob Thornton, has been found guilty of aggravated manslaughter.
The verdict came down on Friday regarding Bromfield's role in the death of a one-year old, her best friend's daughter, in 2008. Her attorney tried to argue that the toddler died as the result of injuries suffered in a fall from her playpen.
But prosecutors convinced a jury that the girl's skull fracture and brain swelling could not have been caused in such a manner. Brumfield will be sentenced in July.

I am so tired of people crying "no evidence" in some of these cases (as if saying there was no evidence makes the facts of the case just magically disappear). The definition of "reasonable" doubt has been lost through the glamour of creative television and people who have no education in forensics somehow think they are qualified to discredit a medical examiner's ruling. It is completely unreasonable to believe that a child with that severe of an injury fell from a height of a few feet. The charges this woman was faced with was based on the physical evidence NOT her father's celebrity.

Comments by MORNINGDOVE are so inappropriate, so derisive. The injuries the baby had could have been present previously to having fallen. I remember that my son fell off the bed and hit his head when he was 1 year old. It was small fall but he had a lump, but nothing else happened. We iced it and the lump went away, of course he was not shaken. I did not take him to the hospital. The question is who shook the baby? But a bigger question is that the US which is not being answered and many people don´t know is that the US is now the highest incarceration rate of any country, not only in total incarceration, but in incarceration per capita, more than China. Prison is now big business in the US since it has been privatized.
Only she knows for sure...shame if it's true. Having any type of Billy-Bob influence in one's life would be a definite detriment though. Time for Thorton to go fade away - your time is up! (scumbag...no you're not comparable to the Beatles - stick to shitty acting - stay out of music!)
aggravated manslaughter does NOT mean that the jury found her guilty of abusing, physically harming, or killing the child...the jury found that her negligence (presumably in not noticing any symptoms related to the head injury) led to the death of the child. i'm curious if the state of florida will now be trying to find and prosecute the ACTUAL person who did this to that little girl.
