The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Trailer: Unveiled!

by at .

Forget The Hunger Games for a moment. Another best-selling trilogy is hitting the big screen first.

In December, Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig will anchor The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the first of Stieg Larsson's beloved novels. The drama will be directed by David Fincher.

Set to rent Reznor and Karen O’s cover of Led Zeppelin’s "Immigrant Song," the following red-band trailer gives our first look at the American version of this film, with Mara in the role of Lisbeth Salander. What do you think?

I respect David Fincher but judging by the trailer, this appears to be very close to the Swedish original. They even filmed it in Sweden, which makes me further question it's validity. At least with Insomnia and Let Me In, the filmmakers transferred the plot to the states and used the setting to create more original works. We already have a Girl With the Dragon Tattoo; why do we need one with fake Swedish accents?

Agreed - this seems absolutely pointless. Noomi Rapace was perfection, and the trailer for this doesn't show any reason to think this will be better and/or different than the original film.
