I love this story - and if I had said no, I would regret it every day.
So says Jennifer Lawrence to Entertainment Weekly in that magazine's latest issue. The Winter's Bone star was a controversial choice to portray Katniss Everdeen, mostly due to her age and blonde hair color. But a simple dye job has at least taken care of the latter problem.
Is this the image of Katniss on the big screen you had in mind, readers?
In an interview with the publication, Lawrence laughed because she recounted the experience of being transformed into the novel's main character... and realized it was akin to exactly what Katniss went through as a Tribute.Asked about meeting director Gary Ross, the actress said:
"I just kind of opened up and said, ‘I feel like a rag doll. I have hair and makeup people coming to my house every day and putting me in new, uncomfortable, weird dresses and expensive shoes, and I just shut down and raise my arms up for them to get the dress on, and pout my lips when they need to put the lipstick on.’"
The Hunger Games has started shooting in North Carolina and will be released on March 23. Among the three other main roles, Josh Hutcherson will play Peeta; Liam Hemsworth will portray Gale; and Woody Harrelson is in as Haymitch.
