I was told that I needed corrective jaw surgery at the age of 18. Everybody I know who has had Orthognathic surgery had to wear braces for quite some time. The braces are actually used to hold the jaw in place after it is sawed apart, moved, and screwed back together. If she did have jaw surgery, the titanium screws and plates would show in an X-ray. In response to one comment, jaws are not wired shut for corrective jaw surgery. Although a liquid diet is necessary for several weeks, it is quite possible to not lose weight. I didn't due to lack of exercise and high calorie shakes.

Bristol should be careful. Plastic surgery is addictive. That is why so many people go overboard with it. They get one or two things corrected and like it then they must correct something else. It's a never ending cycle all fueled by low self image.

A comparison picture of Bristol, helpfully supplied by the celebrity gossip magazines:

In comparing May 3, 3011 with last November, the second line up from the bottom is measured from the bottom of Bristol's front teeth, not her lower lip. So, it's a little more obvious that her chin was not seriously tampered with -- just plumped smooth.

The really serious work was done on the subcutaneous SOFT TISSUES of her jaw and neck -- not her jawBONE, which would require many weeks of wired-shut eating. If Bristol lost only 5 pounds after undergoing jawBONE surgery, she found a way to shove hamburgers between her wired-shut teeth.

Corrective jaw surgery can be really painful. I have had it myself for a car accident. Your appearance does change once all the swelling goes down. If the surgeon decided to extend her chin during surgery that could also changer her appearance. Hopefully she isn't suffering from nerve damage or drooling. That can also happen with jaw surgery. It takes a long time to heal from this procedure. Your mouth and face feel completely different.

While its true that corrective Jaw surgery can change the appearance to some degree, she didn't have an overly noticable underbite before. If she had jaw surgery i think she also used this opportunity to get a few other things done. She look like she had a chin implant, minor cheek implants, a mini brow lift (celebrities have them as young as early 20's).
She has the right to do whatever she wants but I do find it contradictory to her message of promoting self esteem in young girls. At least she is admitting that something was done to her face (even if she won't admit the full extent of what she did).

I forgot to say that this person did wore braces for a long time.

I think she is telling the truth. I know some one from work that had the same procedure and she looks totally different.

people need to relax. it's perfectly fine if she needed the procedure, i've had similar ones for my teeth and it does change your apperance. so what if she looks different. the only reason it's causing any sort of attention is because of who she is. Even if it was plastic surgery, who cares? she can do what she wants. And she looks fine.

Personally, I liked her old face better. It was youthful & pretty. Her new face isn't bad at all, though it has altered her appearance to look older than she really is.
What's the rush? Trust me, in no time, one day you just wake up & you're old, lol, such as I have found with myself.
My motto - to each his own. Whatever makes her happy, I am fine with :)

She looked fine before, she's just insecure and we see now, this makes her happy. Go figure but it's her face and money.
