Betty White on Lindsay Lohan: So Ungrateful and Unprofessional!
by Free Britney at .Didn't see this one coming. Betty White went OFF in a recent interview about stars who selfishly "abuse" their fame and let their careers spiral out of control.
Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen for example.
White told the Daily Mail (UK) that she "cannot stand" over-the-top lifestyles and stars like LiLo go get "wonderful starts in show business and who abuse it."
Betty wasn't done: “They party too much, don’t learn their lines, are unprofessional, and grumble about everything. I think they are terribly ungrateful.”
In her day, the 89-year-old (!) White adds, "We considered ourselves lucky ... and were always on our best behavior in public." Lindsay? Mmmnotsomuch.
"They are the most blessed people in the world and they don't get it."
Pretty much. Not that they appreciate this point... which is sorta Betty's entire point. Lindsay Lohan, of course, was like, so shocked and hurt by all this.
"Wow. I've always been a fan of hers," she replied. "It's a bit strange when people feel they must speak publicly about others. Especially a grown woman."

Peter - "And why cannot I rightly believe she's just an old liniment sniffing blowhard?" If you can say that, it's clear you don't remember the good old days, when people were paid an honest pay for an honest day's work. Neither Sheen nor Lohan get that. Betty surely does, because she lived during those times and worked hard to get where she is.

Goooooo Betty, she's spot on. There are stars out there who do appreciate what they have, we just don't hear about them so much. Not exciting too much I guess. But they shine compared to Sheen and Lindsay. These two would be the wrecks they are no matter what their choice of careers. They are basically wrecks as humans and just happen to be in a very forgiving industry. Sad.
@ Michelle Bender: I don't know whether these people need shame as much as self-respect. They obviously have none or they wouldn't be acting this way, in public or private!
What happened to shame? Shame USED to keep people including celebrities from just acting anyway they wanted to. Shame kept young actors & actresses in the closet or honest up front. There was no speculation out loud in public because people were held to a higher standard. RKO & MGM would have never hired her or any of these actors because of there public antics...they would have been ASHAMED to have them on contract. We should really give Lindsay or Lindsey a pass. She was raised by the two worst persons God blew breathe into! She would have been better off in Foster Care. NOW THAT'S WHAT BETTY PROBABLY WANTED TO SAY!!!!!
