Who Was Sent Home on American Idol?
Following performances by Adam Lambert and Diddy Dirty Money, the first American Idol finalist received the news he/she was fearful to hear tonight: it was time to go home.
Who would the unlucky contestant be? Ashthon Jones, who sang Diana Ross one more time for the judges in an attempt to stave off elimination. Alas, it wasn't meant to be, as Jennifer Lopez broke the news to the hopeful: "Not this time, baby, I'm sorry. And it was unanimous."
Jones proceeded to break down in tears and was comforted by her fellow finalists as the credits rolled.
Did Ashthon Jones deserve to be eliminated this week?

I missed the program but believe Ashton Jones looks the Dian Ross star part and has a terrific voice. I sincerely wish her all the best and hope she tries again next year. There is also the new program from Simon Cowell, X Factor. It would be great to see Ashton Jones on this show.

I think the competition is tough this year and she just wasn't strong enough to stay. She has a lot of potential though. Never give up Ashthon Jones!!! Good luck and God bless!

For her "encore" performance....why didn't she choose a different song at least? Sheesh. Not smart.

Was there an elimination on Idol tonight? I couldn't get past my thrill at seeing Lambert deliver another great vocal... so I didn't even try and just switched over to my laptop to go download Lambert's hot Aftermath Remix track from AdamOfficial once he was done singing on Idol. The dude's so damn good, if you still haven't checked him out, you should, so worth it... always delivers a stellar vocal and is just great to listen to! (and look at too for that matter)

I think they got it right. American saw what we saw on the two that were eliminated before with the borish behavior.
