Stefano Langone Earns His Spot on American Idol

One of three wild card entries, as chosen by the judges last week, Stefano Langone made a strong statement on American Idol last night: I belong!

The singer challenged himself by taking on Stevie Wonder's "Lately," mixing it into a ballad and a jazz-based arrangement. The performance left Jennifer Lopez laughing and referring to the version as a "dance remix."

Steven Tyler compared Stefano to a "soaring volcano," while Randy Jackson likely paid him the biggest compliment of all: "It's so hard to sign Stevie Wonder. He'd be proud of this, because you slayed it."
