Mike Huckabee Calls Out Natalie Portman for Premarital Pregnancy

by at . Comments

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has made it clear: he has an issue with unmarried, unashamed, wealthy women who tell the world about their pregnancy.

It's clear to whom he's referring, right? Incredibly, no.

The likely 2012 Presidential candidate went on Michael Medved's radio show Monday and somehow called out Natalie Portman, not a certain daughter of a certain reality star who has raked in seven figures by posing on tabloid covers with her child.

2011 Oscar Winner

"People see a Natalie Portman who boasts*, 'We're not married but we're having these children and they're doing just fine," Huckabee said. "I think it gives a distorted image. It's unfortunate that we glorify and glamorize the idea of out-of-wedlock children."

(*Note: Portman has never said this. She has, however, had the gall to appear on stage with a baby bump and tell the world she loves her fiancee, Benjamin Millepied.)

Referring to Portman's pregnancy as "troubling," Huckabee added:

"Most single moms are very poor, uneducated, can't get a job, and if it weren't for government assistance, their kids would be starving to death and never have health care. And that's the story that we're not seeing."

We agree 1,000% with that statement. We wonder how Huckabee's fellow Republican, Sarah Palin, feels about this issue.

In 2007, meanwhile, Huckabee said the following about a pregnant Jamie Lynn Spears: "I hope it is not an encouragement to other 16-year-olds who think that is the best course of action... I'm not going to condemn her... There'll be plenty of people in line to and I always look for the shortest lines. I just hope that she will make another right decision, and that's to give that child all the love and kindness and care that she can."

Why the more pointed words for Portman? Might they be related to a Presidential run? You tell us.

Yuckabee better hitch-hike back to Bubba country, sit in front of a chicken coop, and bang on a banjo. He is finished.

Huckabee is a despicable Republican hypocrite who never said one unkind word about Bristol Palin when SHE was in the same situation as Natalie Portman. Furthermore, Huckabee has spent the last four days blatantly lying about President Obama being raised in Kenya, Africa with the Mau Maus instead of with his white mother in both Indonesia and Hawaii. If Huckabee is a Christian, I am Mother Teresa! Obama should sue this creep for defamation of character and indict him for being a traitor spreading falsehoods about the President of the United States of America!

Oh no, if he were to be elected president in 2012, we would have the Christian version of Sharia law in this country. The moral majority is neither. I've seen enough politicians and public figures with low morals get outed in their adultery over the years after they played "holier than thou." I don't care what anyone does; just don't try to play the bedroom police with the rest of us.

All you people need some serious counseling! Natalie Portman has done nothing to be ashamed of!

This idiot wants to run for president and he's worried about Portman. He should just stick to playing guitar with Herman's Hermits and doing stupid commentary on Fox and Friends.

@shannon Thank you for proving my point. I guess you have to think morality is all relative, otherwise you'd have to look in the mirror and see a cheap, used, throwaway piece of meat, a whore, a slut, a skank. A girl who's had dozens of dicks in her hooha, up her ass and down her throat. Or, as Charlie Sheen would put it, a "goddess". Right. You're filth -- a dirty piece of filth no man will ever want for his own. Who would bring a skanky old slut like you home to their mother?

@sharon aka mike huckabee- you arent fooling anyone! shut up & go get laid or something.
besides morality is all based on perspective anyway so who are you to say what is & isnt moral?

I love how this topic pops up about morality, and yet half the people in this argument are passing judgement, because im sure God really approves of that. If you dont believe in being pregnant and unwed, then dont watch it on tv and i strongly believe in sweeping your own doorstep before sweeping others. Do you guys actually know Natalie portman, im guessing not, so you dont know the full story of her pregnancy and her fiancee. I am sorry but times have changed and like other people have pointed out that the divorce rates are ridiculous, so why on earth would a soon to be parent jump on the band wagon, just to please people, then 5 or 6 years down the road get a divorce and have that poor innocent child be subject to that.... now tell me what is worse subjecting a child to a bitter divorce or simply having two parents that never got married?

They are glamorizing being pregnant in hollywood by keeping these people on a pedestal. You know what I mean. If she were poor, like someone else mentioned earlier then she wouldn't be on a pedestal and it would be appalling that she is pregnant and unmarried. I believe in GOD and he judges us, not me. But he despises this kind of behavior.

And I otherwise hold Natalie Portman in very high respect with high standards for her talent, intellect (Harvard GRAD, not just an attendee!!), education, and her support for the Environment and other charities!... She's so impressive otherwise, this becomes a bit of a fumble. :(
