Jennifer Lawrence Confirmed as Katniss Everdeen

The Wrap reports that this Oscar nominee has been confirmed as Katniss Everdeen, the heroine at the center of Suzanne Collins' best-selling novel series. Lawrence will star in a planned film trilogy that will include The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay.
The role of Katniss caps what has been an incredible year for Lawrence. The 20-year was a relative unknown just a few months ago and then rose prominence in Winter's Bone.
She beat out such other young Hollywood stars as Chloe Moretz, Lyndsy Fonseca, Saoirse Ronan and Emma Roberts for the part.

Everyone keeps saying she looks too old, but seriously have you read the books? Katniss is like the mother of her family! She has to take care of them because her mother is too depressed to do anything. You couldn't have some nonexperienced immature 16 year old play Katniss. Just saying guys you need to calm down, I think she's perfect!
i dont understand why everybody has to make a huge deal over it. i think she's perfect for the part. and yes, everybody has their own opinions that they are entitled to, but calm it down a couple hundred notches. jeez.
She's perfect! I'm not suprise at all, her as a "Katniss Everdeen". I already watch The Hunger Games! and its so cool... I really love it! I dont care who will be the Katniss Everdeen but I care about how she will act as Katniss but I'm not dissapointed at all cause I think she's suits to be Katniss.
I like her but, your kidding right? Look, she may be a "great" actress and all but her as Katniss? No! This is the worst thing ever to happen in human history!! Just saying I over react alot
Why? Why Jennifer Lawrence? I have nothing against her, but she does not seem right for Katniss, Johanna maybe, but not Katniss. I would have loved to see someone younger and darker take on Katniss's role.
