Chris Brown: A "Grown-Ass Man," Done Apologizing For Rihanna "Mishap"

by at . Comments

People are always gonna talk. But I'm in a positive place. - Chris Brown

In an interview with the New York Post's Page Six Magazine, the star, whose new album F.A.M.E. stands for "Forgiving All My Enemies," says he has come to grips with his own infamy and that now, "I consider myself a grown-ass man."

He's also done apologizing for Rihanna looking like this: "At the end of the day, if I walk around apologizing to everybody, I'm gonna look like a damn fool."

He;s looking to move on from the Rihanna incident and one scandal after another - i.e. this week's Chris Brown nude pic drama - but it's difficult.

In the wake of the shocking assault, Brown says that "a handful of people stuck by me," including fellow musicians Pitbull and Pharrell Williams.

Still, he laments that many "turn[ed] away. They don't want to get involved because they don't want their name attached to anything negative."

"Unknowingly, they kind of show their true colors when they do that."

Their true colors being ... that they don't condone domestic violence?

On the flip side, he doesn't entirely fault friends for walking away after the assault, for which he has apologized profusely and paid a heavy price:

"You can't blame people for how they want to be portrayed or if they don't want to be associated with somebody who had a particular mishap."

"The last two years, everybody dissed me," Brown says. "But my fans were so dedicated. The way I look at it is, you can't walk around mad."

"If you do, you just prove everybody right that you're an angry person."

Aside from that whole beef with Raz B, Chris has done a pretty good job. But fully repairing his image after that "mishap" will be very hard.

The fact that he beat up one of the world's most popular singers is tough to get over, and many people don't view his actions as sincere.

Is it fair? Is it completely off base? Should people just drop it? Is a person who commits domestic violence bound to do it again? Discuss.

I actually believe he has learned from his mistakes. All he is doing is asking for a second chance with his fans. Which i am willing to do. I still love his music.

"Grown Ass Men" don't hit women. PS - Why would anyone ever take this tool seriously? Sure, he can dance and sing and he probably can shoot a ball into a hoop for that matter. But at the end of the day his legacy is and always will be a woman beater. PSS - No forgiveness or sympathy from me.

Team me

He obviously hasn't learned shit or changed.
If he never hits another woman again, it won't be because he knows it's wrong, it will be to protect his own image and so HE doesn't have to go through what HE'S been going through. Nevermind what Rhianna went through, or what the next woman might go through. He only cares about himself and his image. I might dance when I hear his music, but I will never forget what he is: a monster.
He doesn't deserve to be forgiven. It's obvious to me that he feels no remorse.

If I only I could bet millions, they'll either get back Together or they'll duet. If the people involved Can be mature to forgive and drop the restraining Order why the hell is it everyone else's business?? He won't be the first to hit a women etc, but due to Being famous and the pictures some how 'leaking' he's Dealt with more shit then somone who constantly Get's a beating!! Why don't u stand up for everyone Instead of a 'famous' person... Do it for someone real.

"Mishap"? How about "Mistake" as in "Mine? At the very least?

I think he needs to go away. Anyone that would support him by listening to his music is in my opinion supporting abuse to women. It is never right to hit another person and his is the lowest of the low in my opinion. GO AWAY CHRIS!

A mishap? Talk about not taking responsibility, he makes it sound like it's something that happened to him. Dude, you are not the victim here. What an asshole.

Why do you keep talking about that incident in every damn interview you get, why can't you simply say you don't wanna talk about it, Rihanna never talks abt it again, shez done so many interviews and all she talks about is her career, things shez yet to do etc,yet you keep waking up this issue every other day, stop calling out the young girl every time u get interviewed. Leave Rihanna's name alone Chris, she has moved on nd buried the hatchet, she lifted the R/O on you and that was supse to be the last link btw u two, keep her name out of your lips!!!

Chris Brown, your female children will also go through that mishap, you truely aint sorry, you just pretend as tho u're sorry just to get sympathy from pple and in interviews like this your TRUE COLOURS come out and you act all careless and pathetic over something that should have seen you in jail.

I don't see nothing wrong with callin it a mishap cause it was..why do they keep asking him about that him an Rihanna both has moved on...I'm so sick of hearing about it let this young man live his life!! I think he learned his lesson an I don't thin he will EVER do that again..much luv ya young man an I hope he do good things in the future.
