Chris Brown: A "Grown-Ass Man," Done Apologizing For Rihanna "Mishap"

by at . Comments

People are always gonna talk. But I'm in a positive place. - Chris Brown

In an interview with the New York Post's Page Six Magazine, the star, whose new album F.A.M.E. stands for "Forgiving All My Enemies," says he has come to grips with his own infamy and that now, "I consider myself a grown-ass man."

He's also done apologizing for Rihanna looking like this: "At the end of the day, if I walk around apologizing to everybody, I'm gonna look like a damn fool."

He;s looking to move on from the Rihanna incident and one scandal after another - i.e. this week's Chris Brown nude pic drama - but it's difficult.

In the wake of the shocking assault, Brown says that "a handful of people stuck by me," including fellow musicians Pitbull and Pharrell Williams.

Still, he laments that many "turn[ed] away. They don't want to get involved because they don't want their name attached to anything negative."

"Unknowingly, they kind of show their true colors when they do that."

Their true colors being ... that they don't condone domestic violence?

On the flip side, he doesn't entirely fault friends for walking away after the assault, for which he has apologized profusely and paid a heavy price:

"You can't blame people for how they want to be portrayed or if they don't want to be associated with somebody who had a particular mishap."

"The last two years, everybody dissed me," Brown says. "But my fans were so dedicated. The way I look at it is, you can't walk around mad."

"If you do, you just prove everybody right that you're an angry person."

Aside from that whole beef with Raz B, Chris has done a pretty good job. But fully repairing his image after that "mishap" will be very hard.

The fact that he beat up one of the world's most popular singers is tough to get over, and many people don't view his actions as sincere.

Is it fair? Is it completely off base? Should people just drop it? Is a person who commits domestic violence bound to do it again? Discuss.

Why is it never a big deal when some men get abused by women?? What Chris brown did was wrong, but who cares, what's done is done. If he could turn back the time I'm pretty sure he would!! You wouldn't walk around on the street calling a normal guy a woman basher, so why do it to ppl who have fame. We are all humans, we bleed the same way. So just cause he's in the public eye does not make him any different! He's known for his music and dance moves not his life!! Everyone get the fuck over it and worry bout ur life and what's in your backyard! Who knows you could be reading this sitting next to a woman basher, or u could even be working with 1 but cause he's not a celeb you'll never know!! So get over it and move on! Chris Breezy all the way, I loved u for ur music not ur personal life!! Xoxo Haterz don't even bother..

I think teaming this guy up with Justin Bieber (another would-be-bad-ass in the making) was bad PR. Didn't Justin like push a 12-year-old a while back. Compare that with, say teaming up Eminem with Elton John in a concert some years back. Regardless of what Eminem really thinks of homosexuals it was great for his image and a good pr move. CB is a good singer but he really needs all the help he can get to clean up his image.

If u all dont like chris brown, why take ur time out to come online to comment on the website? To the people that was wishing death on him, u all is going burned in hell with burning figher. That is not cool to wish death on people and all this dude is tryin to live his life.

Ok chris brown have already been forgiving. So to me, im still is going to buy his new cd.

A "mishap" are you kidding me. This kid is in serious need of some proper guidance. No one is asking you to apologize every single second but we do expect some contrition. Chris Brown has really opened my eye's to the signs of an abuser. He's arrogant, manipulative, narcissistic, verbally abusive, the void of compassion and entitled. I will NEVER support him again and not just because of the BRUTAL ATTACK on Rihanna but because of his overall behavior.

this fuckin douchebag digs his own grave?? look like a fool for apologizing??? you look like a fucking fool for saying that. put the shovel down chris. go back to do doing w.e the fuck it was before music or any of this becuz it clearly isnt working out in your favor. fuckin women beating douchebag.

"If I go around apologizing to everyone I look like a damn fool" ??? really?? See I thought the part where you look like a fool is when you are 19 years old and so drunk out of your mind that you beat your girlfriend half to death and destroy your career.... could be wrong.

REALLY!! Why is it that we act like we have never done anything to be ashamed of? Is there nothing in your past you wouldn't want anyone to know? You ar not his judge but it is up to you weather you want to forgive not forget! Has God forgiven you for anything you've done wrong? We all have a tainted past! Just for the record I was an abused women so I know what it's like and I have forgiven my abuser.

what kind of grown man calls himself a "grown ass man"? sounds immature to me. i can't stand him one bit. i dont know why people support this woman-beater and i don't believe he's changed one bit. he just wants us to believe that so his shitty album sells.
