Barbara Bush Supports Gay Marriage
In a break from her father's political views, Barbara Bush, daughter of former President George W. Bush, has expressed her support for gay marriage.
Vocally advocating for something her dad wanted constitutionally banned, Barbara filmed an emotional PSA for the Human Rights Campaign this week.
"New York is about fairness and equality," she says in the video (below). "Everyone should have the right to marry the person that they love.”
Barbara's break from her father's position is bold, but not unprecedented.
Meghan McCain, daughter of former Presidential candidate and U.S. Sen. John McCain, is a vocal gay marriage advocate, as is her mom, Cindy McCain.
The next Bush family gathering might be a bit awkward, but good for Barbara for having the courage to stand up for what she thinks is right.

Good for her!! Look, I seriously do not understand why people are against gay marriage. If it's because of religous reasons then don't do it yourself but why should you beliefs effect anyone esle? If you think it's "wrong" fine, you are entitled to your opinion but you are not entitled to force that opinion on everyone else. I am straight and happily married and I wish for everyone,no matter their sexual preference, the same. I realize may people have a problem with gay people but folks, that's you problem not theirs. I am proud to say I live in a State where gay marriage is legal.

@vampfreak-do you seriously thinj that having two gay parents will make a child gay? That is the most ridiculous lie propagated by anti-gay marriage components. If the sexual orientation of two parents made any difference in a child's orientation, one would conclude that all people should be straight. Stop drinking the teabagger kool-aid.

Hollywood has nothing, NOTHING, to do with why gay marriage is such a big deal. It's a big deal because every human being is equal and should be treated as such. No one has the right to tell someone whether or not it's right to love the person you love; not the government, not the church, not anyone. And you can spin all the shit you want about "God says it isn't right, God says you'll go to hell", but if that's who God is, then call me a fucking athiest, because that's pathetic. Gay marriage should be legal because love is love, and love is blind. If you love someone, you deserve the right to marry them. Plain and simple.
The government needs to stop trying to control every aspect of our lives. Maybe if they would just realize that shit is what is and they should just let it be, this world would be a better place.
Peace, love, and gay marriage!

Vampfreak, i used to share your view about adoption. Then I met a ex-foster kid who told me he would've been elated to have been adopted to any home (gay/straight/single parent) instead of staying in the system. If the child can become a part of a loving family unit, then its all good!!! i don't believe child would grow up to be gay, so much as he would grow up to be a well-adjusted, loving person from a good home :)

Walk a mile in someone elses shoes and think about it...if you weren't allowed to marry someone that you really wanted to marry, you would feel like you are being treated unfairly, wouldn't you? Its the most ridiculous thing, in my opinion, that our government prevents 2 people in love from marrying. But remember, seperation of church anf state, right? They know what's best for us... they're just making sure America doesn't go to hell! Thank god!
