It was a relatively low key New Year's Eve for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

The attractive couple spent many hours at the Spyglass Inn in the town of Ventnor on the British Isle of Wight, enjoying lunch and a concert there on December 31. They returned to that location on New Year's Day, as well.

At some point over the weekend, Rob and Kristen also made the life of Hattie Bury. They ran into this fan on the street, as the teenage detailed via a Facebook posting that included the photo above and message below:

“My friend went up and spoke to Kristen who seemed shocked. Probably because they seem to have grabbed no attention what-so-ever so a couple of overly grinning fans wasn’t the first wish she had for New Year.”

We will say it again. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are awesome.

Over the holidays, the globe-trotting, philanthropic pair visited an animal sanctuary in Namibia, where their first biological child was born.

When they departed, they left an astounding $2 million behind.

GIVING BACK: It's what Brangelina is becoming best known for.

The couple made that huge donation to the Naankuse Lodge and Wildlife Sanctuary in Namibia, the country in which daughter Shiloh, now 4, was born.

Of the donation in Shiloh's name, Angelina said, "We want her to be very involved and grow up with the understanding of her country of birth."

The pair often donates to humanitarian causes, including Doctors Without Borders and Global Action for Children, via the Jolie/Pitt foundation.

Greyson Chance stayed up way past his bedtime to ring in 2011 on Friday night.

And he did it with the song that made him famous in 2010!

The 13-year old sensation, whose rose to fame on Ellen by sitting at the piano and singing a rendition of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi," put on another performance of that single in Times Square on New Year's Eve. It's very impressive stuff. Watch now.

Acting legend Zsa Zsa Gabor received some bad news after returning to the hospital on Sunday. Doctors had to amputate the lower part of her right leg.

The 93-year-old was rushed by ambulance to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. There, doctors ordered that the surgery be performed on the actress.

"They wanted to do this before the holiday, but now the doctors have forced us," the actress's husband, Prince Frédéric von Anhalt, said of the surgery.

There's no positive spin to put on this sad story, expect to wish Zsa Zsa the best, and hope recovers quickly and remains in otherwise perfect health.

We are not traditional.

So said Crystal Harris to People when asked about her relationship with Hugh Hefner. The 24-year old wasn't even referring to the age difference between her and her 84-year old fiance, however.

She was simply recounting how Hefner proposed, placing her giant ring inside a Little Mermaid music box and not getting down on one knee.

Hefner, meanwhile, describes Crystal as "totally devoted," adding:

"Her priorities are pretty much our relationship, No. 1 and No. 2 and 3, and you don't always find that. Despite the age disparity, the truth of the matter is we have a great deal in common, we really complement one another, we have a wonderful time together, and I love her."

As she announced earlier via pants-less Twitter pic, Lady Gaga has a new album out this spring. But she'll have some serious competition as she looks to cement her place as the reigning queen of pop music and culture:

Britney Spears.

Gaga's single, "Born This Way," is due out next month, with her album of the same name set for May. Britney's album is scheduled for a March release.

  • Like Nun Other
  • Britney Spears, Short Shorts

Which pop queen will conquer music in 2011?

Which bombshell will rise to the top of the heap? Can they deliver truly cutting-edge music or will they rely on their persona to carry them forward?

On top of musical similarities, the two have rabid fan bases (Gaga, Justin Bieber and Britney have the most Twitter fans worldwide, in that order).

While Gaga's image is unique and experimental, she's still so new to the scene that it's hard to know what to expect in terms of her musical style.

Maybe her inspiring New Year's Tweet wasn't just the usual lip service. Even though Lindsay Lohan is legally free to leave rehab today, she's sticking around Betty Ford, possibly until next week, to get additional treatment.

The troubled star is being cautious before reentering society. Thank goodness.

IN TREATMENT: As long as it takes, girl. [Photo: Pacific Coast News]

The fast-careening train wreck was ordered back to rehab until January 3 following her probation violating drug test in October. So she is free to go now.

However, reports say Lohan is talking with the Betty Ford Center about remaining in the residential day treatment program until at least Saturday.

Good for her. If she's hesitant to leave, maybe she's finally self-aware enough to make lasting change. What do you think? Will she stay clean?

Floyd Mayweather has trouble with anger. And security cameras.

Last month, surveillance video outside the boxer's Las Vegas home caught him berating a guard who dared to ask for his identification. Now, TMZ has obtained a tape that may prove even more damaging to Mayweather.

In mid-September, the athlete was charged with four felonies in connection to allegedly assaulting ex-girlfriend Josie Harris.

The video above depicts Harris being wheeled away on a stretcher, following a confrontation in which she claims Mayweather punched her in the face. A September 9 police report states that the duo's kids escaped the house and ran to a guard station.

Mel Gibson celebrates a birthday today. The troubled actor is 55.

Hopefully his New Year's resolution was to berate people less.

Seriously. Dude is an angry, deeply disturbed individual.

Are You EFFING SERIOUS?!??!?!

With Mel, you never know what to expect next.

Currently in the midst of three court battles with ex Oksana Grigorieva, Mel accuses her of extortion, wants custody of their daughter and denies her allegations of domestic abuse stemming from an epic fight last winter.

That drama, punctuated by Mel Gibson's insane rants, dominated news for much of 2010. Will this continue deep into 2011, or will the parties settle things amicably, allowing him to return to his career as a beloved Hollywood icon?

We have our doubts. Happy birthday, Mel.

Like his beloved character in Home Alone, we'd have to imagine Macaulay Culkin woke up this morning, looked in the mirror, clasped his cheeks and screamed.

That's because the actor is no longer dating Mila Kunis. He and the beauty ended their eight-year relationship over the weekend, as the latter's rep says "the split was amicable, and they remain close friends."

Kunis has already been nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in Black Swan. Oscar buzz is also circulating around the actress, who has been open in the past about her views on marriage.

"It's just not something that's important to me," Kunis said in December 2009. "I'm too selfish to have [children] now, but when I do, I don't feel like I need to be married. I need to have a person in my life who will care for me and my children - nothing else."
