Barbara Walters Feels Bad For Sarah Palin

by at . Comments

While not defending Sarah Palin's crosshairs map and election-oriented Tweets about "reloading," Barbara Walters still feels kind of bad for her.

On The View, Babs insists that Sarah isn't responsible for the shooting in Arizona perpetrated by Jared Lee Loughner, "a deranged young man."

“Whether that speared him on or whether he is just a very sick person, we don’t know," Walters says, but we all need to stop pointing fingers ...

"To blame Sarah Palin I think is very unfair to her," she added.

We agree. We have said the same all along. Sarah Palin is not responsible, directly or indirectly, for the shooting of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

Criticisms of her vitriolic rhetoric, low class tactics and bull$h!t story about how the crosshairs weren't meant to be gun sights are in bounds, however.

What do you think? Is she partly to blame for what happened?

Barabra Walters, who actually knows Gov. Palin, understands that Sarah is a sweet, kind, charitable person who would never incite violence; which is more than you can say for David Letterman & Kathy Griffin, who have openly called for physical & sexual attacks against women & girls.

Barbara is wrong, and in complete denial over what is happening with conservative violence. Sarah is complicit in this shooting and murder because she incited the behavior with her words and actions. I come from a conservative Jewish family that can't handle confrontation. Instead of confronting Sarah Palin for her distarous rhetoric, she wants to feel sorry for her and make excuses. I think Barbara's words are disgusting, weak and misguided. Intead of helping to confront the lie that is conservatism, she's going to rationalize the gangster behavior that is the right. This young man was Anti-government, and we know who preaches that nonsense every day. Barbara you are part of the problem. It's called denial. Denial of right-wing conservative voilence.

It is not by chance the first thought that came to mind for so many when they heard of this tragedy was that of Sarah Palin. She has promoted the image of herself as a sharp-shooting, kill-loving, grizzly-bear mentality person at every possible opportunity. Why now should there be any surprise or any apology if she was the first thought when the rhetoric she has been promoting since she stepped into the limelight became a tragic reality for whatever reason? Sarah postured herself here - right or wrong - this perception was created by her own hand.
