Anne Hathaway Cast as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises
No offense to The Oscars. And we still adore you, Glee. But Anne Hathaway has signed on for the role of a lifetime.
The Academy Awards host will portray Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, the next installment of the Batman franchise that will hit theaters in 2012. The upcoming Glee guest star beat out Jessica Biel and Keira Knightley, among others, for the part.
Says director Christopher Nolan: “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story.”
Warner Brothers also revealed that Tom Hardy will play Bane in the blockbuster. But back to Hathaway: Will she make a good Catwoman?

I think Nolan has made an excellent choice casting Anne Hathaway. I have been a collector of Catwoman comic books and action figures for many, many years. I was worried about who would be cast (because of the Halle Berry movie, ISH!) I hope Nolans stays true to the comic book character.And if I could give Anne a suggestion would be that she really look through all the Catwoman comics and let the art and backstory of those books capture Catwomans heart.

Honestly, my first thought on hearing this news was, "WTF? Anne Hathaway???" After thinking about it though, that was my same reaction when I heard Heathe Ledger was gonna play Joker...and he did an AMAZING job with that role. I think it will be the same with Anne Hathaway... She's a good actress and it'll be cool/interesting to see her do something more gritty and playing a villain.
